No big name would touch us with a barge pole.

Only incentive might be that if they take it on a large contract, do a **** job they'll get a nice pay-off in six months.

I would say its hard to attract big experienced names to this division ...recent appointments off the top of my head

            WBA - Di Matteo
            Watford/Reading - Brendon Rodgers
            Watford - Mackay
            Newcastle - Houghton
            Barnsley - Robins
            Norwich - Gunn
            Derby - Clough

I bet Burnley fans weren't to thrilled with Coyle when it was announced.

The team that seems to have got it right are Forest with Davies ...I'd like to see us go for someone similar and get someone like Coppell, Curbs, Jewell or possibly Burley.

Southgate is hardly a "big" name, similiar to Dowie or Magilton,no improvement,so no thanks to him.

Egham R ur spot on. Only way you can get a big name is if they have no management experience (Sousa). Which isn't what we really need.

Coppell wouldn't stand for board interference.

Curbishley had problems with board at West Ham, so doubt he would be interested.

I'm liking the idea of George Burley.

                Got Derby to play-off semi-finals.

                Got Southampton to play-offs.

Did a great job at Ipswich and didn't have much of a hope with Scotland.

Whilst it is great to speculate, I am going to lie low this time because each time I have thought no chance will they be appointed we have ended up with Dowie and Magilton. And whilst Magiltons football was great to watch, didn't we all just know this would happen ! Obviously not like this but he was doomed really ever since Leicester !

We wont get Mancini, we wont get Hiddink, we wont get Ranieri. There big names and they wont be coming to 2nd tier team like us. Just like we wont sign any big players untill we get to the Premier League, we wont get big managers either. Those managers wouldnt even manage teams like Hull or Wigan, and there in the Premier League. There top managers, who belong at tops clubs. I love QPR to death, but I think we all know in our heart of hearts we wont get big name managers untill were in the Premier League.

I wouldnt mind John Collins. We were linked with him in the past, maybe this time we can get him. He did pretty good with Hibernian, he wasnt a bad player, played along the likes of Henry at Monoco, plus, he's Scot, and the Scottish manager's are usually pretty decent

Yep - would be good. But would Southgate want that? Could undermine what he's previously achieved; much like when TV was called in to assist Bryan Robson's mess at Boro?
