  • My view on Magilton (won't be popular.)

I know he is getting a slating on here and if he has head butted Buzz then he should go, but we have to maintain a bit of perspective here. We all love jumping on the bandwagon and slating people as it gives us something to talk about (funny enough it was dead boring on here when we were sat in 4th and things going well.)

Anyway I met Jim and John Gorman for a couple of beers after the Newcastle game and one thing is blatantly obvious is that he is desperate to do well. He is a loud, passionate and vocal character and would have managed the side the same way that we as fans would like to manage. Spade a spade and all that. John Gorman is the opposite, chilled and very decent. They would be perfect good cop bad cop people.

On top of this he is British, knows about the division, and has a lot of contacts within the game. Now in 20 games he has got us to our highest league position in many years playing the best football we've seen for 20 years. I've got a lot of mates who no longer go and after the Derby performance they all were talking about getting season tickets. 1st time since Gerry was manager.

We have had a bad run of 6 games. Confidence is very low. Look at the run Leicester are now on, 5-1 by Forest, stuffed yesterday as well. These things happen. If we beat WBA (which we won't now) all will be fine again. Simple.

I know the consensus on here is to get rid of him as he 'tinkered' with the team. What a load of crap. Tinkering wasn't mentioned when Vine set up Pat against Boro with their 1st touches. 95% of us have no idea what happens on the training ground. If Gorkss is crap in training all week why shouldn't Jim drop him for the game on Saturday. All we see as fans is Gorkss dropped. You have to trust that they know what they are doing.

I agree that some of his substitutions have been unusual but how many of us would agree on here would agree with everything we say. I personally think Ramage is one of the worst players ever to play for us, some people on here love him. We all have our views so Jim is not going to please all and sundry. People on here want him sacked for tinkering. Grow up, he is the manager and is paid to do it. I trust his decision making working with the team daily more than some drunk fan that sits on here.

When deciding whether you want Jim to go think about the facts. Best football seen at LR since Francis was gaffer. Goals galore. January transfer window approaching so will be some new faces appearing. Stability is what is needed. No player is bigger than the club.

          Excellent post

The players to me are acting like spoilt children at the end of the day thay are paid vast amounts of money to play for our club and if they don't like the manager they either act like pros and get on with it or they can leave

Fair enough. But where does the player power come from? The fans. Who will we be singing for next game....it certainly won't be Jim. Players like Buz are loved by the fans and have to be managed by the manager to get the best out of them. Jim's clearly not done that

You have come closest to getting me to rethink my wish for Magilton to go but Im still angry at 2 for and 8 against in two matches, witnessing worst home defeat in over 30 years in the league & none of my mates wanted Magilton .

Why should a manager bend over backwards for a player , Magilton is the boss and Buz should listen and do what he is told

it's lovely that you feel you can make a judgment about JM on the basis of a chat in a pub. Why not ask some Ipswich fans about the bloke and his reputation as a player and manager there? Perhaps you could pop down to Yeovil or wherever he is these days and have a chat with Marcus Stewart about Jim.

agree with jim all the way, posted a comment saying they all should have had a kick in the crown jewells and the one that cried should leave.football used to be a game for men when the players listened to the man in charge.stability is what is needed and if jim gets the second chance with or without the current players we will definately make the playoffs

disagree with your post. Magilton is a poor manager with no tactical knowledge, a well known tinkerer and constantly plays players out of there position.Add to that he always plays his favorites no matter how they play and dont forget his "unusual substitutions"....best rid of him imho. Different opinions abound.

All very well but if he headbutted him he will (and rightfully so) be off!

Great post i bought a half season ticket on the back off the football we have been playing, that is down to magilton style of football, remember sosua boring 0-0 draws everyweek. We have lost a few games and everybody is panicking, no player is bigger than the club.
