  • Appoint Ainsworth on a full time basis

I know the majority won't agree with this and I am prepared to be shot down on this subject but I see no other solution. I think the manager's job at QPR has become a poison challice and there are only two ways to fix this. Either pump money into the playing staff and win promotion to the Premiership or appoint a manager and stick with them over a minimum period of 2 years.

No unemployed or half decent manager will turn down a Premiership club if they aren't already a Premiership manager. The chance to manage in what is regarded as the best league in the world will be the pinnacle of most managers careers. Not all good managers have and will manage in the Premiership but you'll struggle ever to get a Mourinho or Hiddink to manage in the Championship.

I hope I am proven wrong but I do not believe that either Coppell or Curbishley would at this stage or for a long time manage QPR or for that matter any other decent Championship manager. Who would want this job when they aren't guaranteed even a full season in charge?

For that reason we should stick with who we know and appoint Ainsworth. He would be accepted by the fans and the players because the vast majority understanding why the club would have to appoint him. Give him the job and the resources and when the time is right ask him to move aside. The draw against Reading, the win against Birmingham and turning the 2-0 deficit into a win all showed a true QPR character. Yes, other results weren't spectacular but how many times did Routledge, Buzsaky, Faurlin, Simpson, Taraabt, Watson etc play for him? He got good results with a much worse squad then we have now. Once the club have proven that we don't just hire and fire every few months the job will go back to being an attractive proposition for most. We have a long history of playing attractive football and have a set of players most football league managers would love to play with. Once Ainsworth has shown that Briatore and Co. can be trusted a do show faith in a manager then the likes of Coppell and Curbishley will want the job.

Give Ainsworth the job, support him in the transfer market and show him some faith. We have proven we can beat anyone on our day and with Ainsworth at the helm I believe we can return to this.

I can see your rationale but are talking about Gareth Ainsworth here, you might as well make Gavin Mahon his player assistant for the rest of the season if we go down this route.

The more I look at it the more I realise sacking Sousa could turn out to be the worst thing that happened to this club since we were relegated from the PL.

I agree about Sousa. It was a massive loss and we are now starting to see why. I fought long and hard with Pete about Sousa but like Magilton I think he is history.

Ainsworth wouldn't play himself and even if he is regarded as Briatore's puppet who else is there? Who is there who didn't want the job in the summer would really want it now. We may only be a few points off the play offs but most managers will see that the club is in a state. An owner who could lose his appeal and therefore have the club taken off him. Headbutting allegations. Player unrest. As well as interferrence from the top.

Only Ainsworth would have both us the fans and the players backing. Not 100% but then no manager ever will have that. We would all back him even if we didn't want him. He got results in difficult circumstances with much worse players. Given more time, money and better players he'll do much better.

          Either Gaz or who?

Equally going to get shot down here but I'd give the job to Dennis Wise.

QPR through and through, he has played at the highest level so should be able to win over our prima donnas and would take the job if offered.

We have to be realistic in managerial targets.

I think if Magilton goes, which to be fair after todays fiasco he definetly will, we need to bring in a big named experianced manager, someone the players will instantly respect and want to play for and impress and someone who is strong enough to stick to his guns and not be a puppet for Briatore if he again decides to stick his nose where it is not wanted.
These managers are definetly out there but they won't come cheap.

I think we all want that but what are the chances of us actually getting that?

Why appoint Magilton in the first place if the sort of manager that everyone wants is available? Magilton was a failure in this league. He may know the league, know the players and for 3 years kept a team in the league but if he was the best available 6 months ago then what chances do we actually have of getting Coppell, Curbishley or even Dennis Wise?
