Me thinks, if this happened a few weeks ago, fans would be reacting differently. Just look at Flavio, everyone up in arms with crashgate, win a few games and not a word.

Makes it easier to have a scapegoat on the back of a bad month on the field

Pete, the difference is this would never have happened a few weeks ago.

Human nature, not often us fans get a home 5-1 spanking [1977 last time] then lose to avaerage penniless Watford with ease 48 hours later.

surely this would make his position intenable?

Think they would have sacked him next week anyway when we lose at West Brom. Worst case is they have to pay him compensation.

Are you saying that winning a game makes it acceptable for the manager to assault one of his team? Rubbish, and any supposed "fan" that thinks it's acceptable under any circumstances is as barking as Magilton.

With employment law these days, even if he not 'butted' him, Buzsaky could probably get him sackled for bullying.
