We are too good to go down. Trouble is will the chequebook be open in January, if we continue to lose these games.

      I doubt it..

You know far more than I do with regards to matters inside the club Pete... But I doubt that these owners would open their chequebook either way.

If we were right in the playoffs and fighting for promotion they would think that we didn't need strengthening and not bother opening their chequebooks.

And the other hand, if we are a fair bit off the playoffs, they would concede that there is no point investing as the season would be virtually over anyway.

They will always have another reason not to splash the cash.

Too good to go down = possibly
Arrogant and lazy enough for it to happen = certainly
Strong enough characters to handle the fight at the foot of the table = not in a million years

Suspect you are right. But it does beg the question what they are all in it for. Sport is about competition and our owners are, presumably, very competitive people. Yet aside from the occasion normally fairly irration explosion when they lash out and sack a manager seemingly more or less at random, they don't seem that fussed about going up. Instead they seem quite content to bumble along. its particularly odd for bernie who is no spring chicken and too many turns on his new young lady friend and he cd die of a heart attack any day - you think he'd want to see his club in the promised land. ho hum.

So they are just going to give up in January because we arent good enough to win games now?

This takeover has been a blast hasnt it?
