  • Are we the unluckiest side in English professional football/ and Fulham the luckiest?

We stuff up just when the sky money comes in. Had Bulstrode not died (at 46) I reckon we'd still be premier league. Fulham stay up 2 seasons running only because their opponents have their minds on the rollowing week's FA cup final.

Now admittedly some clubs have had it harder that are no longer a threat (eg Luton) but arguably most of their "fans" deserve it. But everytime we look like getting somewhere we fall apart. Injuries to key players etc. Only way out is spending sensibly in January (I'm talking at least 10 mill on FIGHTERS not loanees-we must buy at least 3 players. Gorkss/Stewart as centre back pairing is a given. And before you say, you live in Australia, what do you know? I have several loyal mates who still renew their season tickets come what may. True, sometimes it seems when I talk to them that they have watched different games to each other I admit. But we need backbone. What is wrong with Watson? Carrying an injury or not too bothered because he's a loanee?

West Brom will beat us 2,3-0 although I reckon we will play better as there a good side (the best in the division I reckon). Looks like Magilton is making the same mistakes he made at Ipswich. We need an Olly to fire us up, or failing that George Graham who knows the importance of defense. If the owners are not serious then they should pull out and let us find our true level, maybe lower reaches of this division or near top of Div. 1.

Forgive me, I'm really fuming after being so optimistic just a couple of weeks back. Promotion? Your 'avin a larf. Pete can stick up for his mates but we're getting nowhere fast....again! I respect GP, but surely its time to give someone else the job of player recruitment preferably the manager (not Magilton please).

I think Fulham deserve a little more respect IMO, they've got a solid little club built on the principles of a manager being given total control over the team and a proper budget to work on, they are the model we should follow for success. They got out of this division by outspending the others (Saha, Coleman, John Collins, Lee Clark, Boa Morte to name but a few), if we continue to penny pinch when we clearly have the resources to do otherwise and have a situation where the manager has absolutely no power to do anything constructive with the team due to the absolute shambles of the chairman we have we won't go anywhere.
