  • The Real Reason For The State We're In And Our Atitudes To Jim

Okay, I will try to write something that doesn't get slated and that is as balanced as I can get!

I think the real reason for much of what is happening is that, for a club with ambitions as we profess to have (4 year plan etc), we appointed what on the outside appeared to be a cheap option of a manager. Magilton's appointment suggested to many that the owners had no genuine ambition. Sacked from Ipswich, not a manager with any pedigree or big name, he was going to have to do exceptionally well to win people over.

We started pretty poorly, to be honest, and then had that great run. I think that got people going, and maybe raised expectations too high. Either way, it happened.

Then clubs with managers and coaches who are tactically good sussed us out. They saw we are narrow, we pass it about a lot, and pressed us deep and cluttered the middle of the park. We became frustrated, especially at Jim's apparant lack of a plan B (and by that I do not mean hoofball).

So, we lose some games, get thrashed Sat and then tonight was appalling. Jim is partly the victim of not being a big name manager. We might be more patient if he was. However because we (on the whole) did not want him, we revert to type and slate him and his favourites who we don't understand why they are being picked.

Jim is his own worst enemy though, because the better players (Buzz being an example) probably feel he has nothing to teach them. Players like to feel they are improving, learning from someone they look up to. Do any of them actually look up to him? Had many of them actually heard of him? I don't know...

Now, he has slated players publicly, he has picked players like Hall who I genuinely have nothing against personally, but who seems to be way below standard, and he has played players totally out of position and dismantled the team that was doing so well.

His man management seems shocking. If he was a massive name, maybe he would have more leeway. But he isn't. How many other managers name and shame players (and even worse then omit to criticise favourites in public)?

He has lost the dressing room, but did he ever really have it. Same with us fans?

I'd be interested in peoples' thoughts.

Nail on the head in my opinion. Was a cheap option like everything else at the moment. Who was the last manager we appointed that really got you excited (and there is a few to choose from) ?

For me it started with the defeat at DOncaster, we put it right to a degree against Coventry city, but he dropped Gorkss, reid and Williams. (by memory). he panicked and felt he had to change the team We draw against Coventry and felt the need to change the team against Middlesborough. he asks for character for the game tonight and some fight, so he drops 4 players.

Gorkss..must thinking to himself, I really don't have nay respect for Magilton.

Tarrabt, Simpson and Buasazcky all get dropped tonight, then in magilton's hour of need, he brings them on to change things on the pitch. Well, I wouldn;'t put in 100% would you? I might have done, if I had been given the chance from the start. Just my view.

So now, you have unhappy players. Ageymang looked like he had scored an own goal for us, as opposed to putting us 1-0 up. We might have too many big time charlies, but one thing for sure I doubt many players are happy and that has to be down to the man management.

              Believe it or not.

              NO..

But, he needs to sort out the dressing room and quick. We might get to a power trip time though, if he asks for players to be sold or be sent back, then we will see who is truly in charge.

                  pkloft, you need a spine

                  Hall/Stewart
                  Watson/Legiterwood
                  Vine/Ageymang

                  Isn't it..

if he felt that was his best team, he would have played them earlier in the season.

                    nail on head Pete

and who has brought those players in & some of them on extremely very good contracts where it seems to be impossible to get rid of them

                    an answer would be good!

I think the owners need to take a long hard look at what they want from QPR. If they really want success, why hire a manager with zero track record, either as a manager or truthfully as a player. Certainly not enough to potentially manage a Premier League club.

I think the manager needs to go back to picking the stylish side that was doing so well, and not just his chums/favourites.

I also think that us fans probably need to start again. I'd love to know what the players think of the fans, on the whole.

Anyway, a lot needs to be done. It isn't even the results, it is the obvious unrest that worries me most.

Decent post and I agree with a lot of it. I can't think of one successful manager who publicly names and shames his players. Cloughie used to, but in this day and age of millionaire players, I doubt he'd be able to do it successfully. Fergie doesn't, Wenger doesn't, although there's no doubt they both let players know when they don't do what they want.

We are 20 games into the season with a squad which, despite being clearly unbalanced, should be cruising along in the top four of this division with no sweat. From that 20 games, we had a run of 6 games where we played well and achieved results, the rest has been decidely mediocre, so in fairness the half term report for JM has to be "Must do better".

Note, not "Could do better", because I don't think he can. He has no pedigree from his time at Ipswich that suggests he's an improving manager, or one who is learning as he goes. Indeed, it's the players who habitually take the blame, never ever him.

All the old habits that Ipswich fans warned us about - he has his favourites, he doesn't know his best team, always tinkering - are there to see. Heaven forbid that he has also indulged his other rumoured habit for taking a shine to player's wives.

Always felt that with this guy, it was only ever a question of when he lost the dressing room. I think we've clearly gone beyond that point by now. Either he survives now or our squad survives.

And just in case you think I've gone soft on you Stedders, Borrowdale once again shoed tonight that he is completely out of his depth at CCC level. Responsible for two goals, left Faurlin completely isolated on the left, never won a tackle, in fact did nothing of any worth for our team all night. Dreadful.

Stewart has been here for years

Vine had a horrific injury, which he has not recovered from

I;ll give you Hall and Ageymang.

Some would say you could see that at the POTY last season.

Me thinks Jim is having difficulty, knocking it out of them.

Problem is you need respect from the players to do that
