Really shocked at the responses to the first post. Thinking that way would've got rid of Ferguson and Wenger years ago... oh and did get rid of Mourinho and Pulis (for a bit). Isn't the problem that we have no width on the left and no defensive midfielder- which is why the same back four as last year look so weak? Our midfield had no presence today and showed almost no ability to break things up. also. I was shocked to see that the full backs seem to have been told to lump it to Dave/Routledge and bypass the midfield entirely. Please God Rowly and Cook come back soon.

Your all making a big mistake and I honestly hope if Magilton does go, we end up with somebody like Darren Ferguson and Dennis Wise....then we'll see how bad Magilton and for that matter Sousa really were.
Who out of you clearly superior intellectual QPR fans calling for Magilton to be sacked, think we'd realistically, at this point of the season, get to replace Magilton? I await some comical responses from those who genuinely think they know better...

Lets not forget for a second that for the majority of this season, we have been in and around the top 6. During that period we were applauded for the way we were playing football and were fast becoming 'the team' that other teams fans rated above everybody else. I've forgotten how many opposing fans have said we were the best team to play at their ground, regardless of the result.
All of this was under Magilton and Gorman, and as the old saying goes, you dont become a bad manager over night. If Magilton had us playing the way we did before, then he can do it again, but we need to stand by him and not call for his head when things dont go our way.
Even if, worse case scenario we get a drubbing next Monday at West Brom, we'll still be within touching distance of the playoffs. Heck even now we still have a chance. NOTHING is over and NOTHING has changed!
I find it ironic that for the entire season we've all been harking on about a striker, and yet for me, our biggest problem seems to be the defence, which is shocking considering for the most part, it's the same defence that was so solid last season.
For all the stick he got, Sousa was the man who moulded that defence into what it was, and seems to have done the same at Swansea. I might add, he's another manager we sacked far too soon and whilst they are no better off than us, we are no better off than them at this moment in time.
Magilton has made some fantastic additions to the team and at times, has brought out the best in each and every single one of them.
I can understand the frustrations of fans who may be wondering why we started with the team we did tonight. When I saw the line up my initial thought was "oh christ" but after a while I gathered that Magilton was simply resting our better players considering we'd only played 2 days ago. He also mentioned in his pre match interview that some fringe players were getting their chance to shine, and Agyemang aside, I think we can safely say none of them took it and i'd wager will be out the door come Jan.
Im confident that Magilton knows what are problems are, and has done all he can so far to try and put things right. He brought in Watson when we were crying out for somebody to replace Rowlands, and brought in Williams for competition at left back which was also being moaned about. Granted neither have set the world alight, but it shows that Magilton DOES know where we need to improve.
I think AT THE VERY LEAST, Magilton should have January to bring in who he needs to, and then we'll see whats what.
QPR need stability, or at least need to give the manager a season in charge for once. There are loads of you who moan about the amount of managers we've had since the takeover, and yet i'd wager these are the same people who not only called for Sousa to get the sack, but are calling for Magilton too.
Was it not only a short while back we had posters on here winding up Ipswich fans saying "thanks for Magilton?".
I beg of you. If your a true QPR fan, If you have any intelligence what so ever, you'll realise that the last thing this club needs is another "Magilton out" brigade like Sousa had.
The fact is, YES Magilton does have his faults, but in my eyes tonight was a chance for the players to bounce back from a big defeat and for some, to stake a claim in the team, and Faulin/ Agyemang aside, not one player stepped up to the plate tonight. They deserve just as much flack as Magilton, if not more so. I've watched Magilton's interviews and touchline antics, and heard about his temper, and REFUSE to believe he didn't tell the players what needed to be done tonight.
Maybe we are all getting ahead of ourselves just a bit? We are still in the top half, have played some wonderful football this season, and for once, have a squad capable of doing well in this division. Come January, I'm sure we'll be seeing some new faces and would like to think we'd also see a fair bit of wedge spent in the process.
It's been a terrible weekend, and Im sure next Monday wont be any better. But for now we need to relax, and think of the bigger picture and think long term, not short term!
U R'ssssssssssssss

half empty - you may want to keep the manager - thats fine, but don't tell people to get a grip. You say nothing has changed, same players etc?? Well it has...we do have the same players yes. but they are not playing for the manager- who is 2nd rate anyway.
We are all entitled to our opinion - so don't tell people to get a grip.

as i have said on other posts i never have called for the managers head... but i honestly think we have gone backwards defensively and the fitness of the playes is shocking.... and think tonight showed no passion... maybe JM has lost the dressing room... and maybe time for him to go and more importantly a few players to take a long hard look at themselves...

Also to reply to other posts:
I've already mentioned that I didn't agree with the starting line up today. Dont for one second think I was in agreement with Magilton about that. I can only assume he wanted to rest some of the players and perhaps thought that those who havent been involved all season, would show more fight and passion in tonight's game than those who were drubbed 5-1 at the weekend.
It obviously didn't work granted, but that could be a good thing as it may be last chance saloon for some of those players now (Ramage/ Vine/Borrowdale/ Hall)
I cant explain or justify why Hall is even in the squad, you've got me there!Last edited by Half Empty; 07-12-2009, 11:31 PM.Will change my user name to half full when QPR give me reason too...

People are quick to call for the managers head when we go on a bad run, but never stop to think WHAT THEN?
Say you get your way and Magilton is sacked in the morning along with John Gorman. Who, in Gods name, is going to want that job?
As already mentioned, as a prospective manager candidate looking from the outside. Magilton has had us around the top 6 all season, has got us at times playing world class football, but yet after 4 bad results he's sacked a mere 6 months or so into the job. We are still within touching distance of the playoffs, and Magilton is sacked.....
Who the **** in their right mind, would want to come ANYWHERE NEAR a club who's owners AND fans are about as patient as freckles on a goth are useful?
Wise? Darren Ferguson? Peter Reid? Souness?
If Magilton does get the sack like all you want, I really REALLY cannot wait to see not only who the next poor sap they bring in is, but also how long you people give him before calling for his head! Will change my user name to half full when QPR give me reason too...
