  • Are some people really suggesting Magilton should leave?

I'm sure we are all absolutely gutted about this weekends results and I agree 5-1 and 3-1 are not results to be proud of in the slightest. I DO however think it's far too early to be calling for Magilton's head this soon.

Lets not forget for a second that for the majority of this season, we have been in and around the top 6. During that period we were applauded for the way we were playing football and were fast becoming 'the team' that other teams fans rated above everybody else. I've forgotten how many opposing fans have said we were the best team to play at their ground, regardless of the result.

All of this was under Magilton and Gorman, and as the old saying goes, you dont become a bad manager over night. If Magilton had us playing the way we did before, then he can do it again, but we need to stand by him and not call for his head when things dont go our way.

Even if, worse case scenario we get a drubbing next Monday at West Brom, we'll still be within touching distance of the playoffs. Heck even now we still have a chance. NOTHING is over and NOTHING has changed!

I find it ironic that for the entire season we've all been harking on about a striker, and yet for me, our biggest problem seems to be the defence, which is shocking considering for the most part, it's the same defence that was so solid last season.

For all the stick he got, Sousa was the man who moulded that defence into what it was, and seems to have done the same at Swansea. I might add, he's another manager we sacked far too soon and whilst they are no better off than us, we are no better off than them at this moment in time.

Magilton has made some fantastic additions to the team and at times, has brought out the best in each and every single one of them.

I can understand the frustrations of fans who may be wondering why we started with the team we did tonight. When I saw the line up my initial thought was "oh christ" but after a while I gathered that Magilton was simply resting our better players considering we'd only played 2 days ago. He also mentioned in his pre match interview that some fringe players were getting their chance to shine, and Agyemang aside, I think we can safely say none of them took it and i'd wager will be out the door come Jan.

Im confident that Magilton knows what are problems are, and has done all he can so far to try and put things right. He brought in Watson when we were crying out for somebody to replace Rowlands, and brought in Williams for competition at left back which was also being moaned about. Granted neither have set the world alight, but it shows that Magilton DOES know where we need to improve.

I think AT THE VERY LEAST, Magilton should have January to bring in who he needs to, and then we'll see whats what.

QPR need stability, or at least need to give the manager a season in charge for once. There are loads of you who moan about the amount of managers we've had since the takeover, and yet i'd wager these are the same people who not only called for Sousa to get the sack, but are calling for Magilton too.

Was it not only a short while back we had posters on here winding up Ipswich fans saying "thanks for Magilton?".

I beg of you. If your a true QPR fan, If you have any intelligence what so ever, you'll realise that the last thing this club needs is another "Magilton out" brigade like Sousa had.

The fact is, YES Magilton does have his faults, but in my eyes tonight was a chance for the players to bounce back from a big defeat and for some, to stake a claim in the team, and Faulin/ Agyemang aside, not one player stepped up to the plate tonight. They deserve just as much flack as Magilton, if not more so. I've watched Magilton's interviews and touchline antics, and heard about his temper, and REFUSE to believe he didn't tell the players what needed to be done tonight.

Maybe we are all getting ahead of ourselves just a bit? We are still in the top half, have played some wonderful football this season, and for once, have a squad capable of doing well in this division. Come January, I'm sure we'll be seeing some new faces and would like to think we'd also see a fair bit of wedge spent in the process.

It's been a terrible weekend, and Im sure next Monday wont be any better. But for now we need to relax, and think of the bigger picture and think long term, not short term!

    U R'ssssssssssssss
Will change my user name to half full when QPR give me reason too...

Faurlin was absent most of the game. Cerny was MOM,

I know people are reacting badly, but that is because nobody really wanted JIm in the first place, rightly or wrongly. I don't know what to think, but he seems to have lost the dressing room, and he certainly has little gasp on what makes a good defence. Either get a quality defensive coach in, or...

Skipped through most of what you said, with a decent manager & with players we have at our disposal we would be in top 3 at least. Magilton out.

why let him bring in his players in january? better off getting rid and letting a new manager (who can do tactics) bring in his own players..

                    Unbelievable responses.

I honestly cannot believe what I'm reading on here. You lot deserve absolutely nothing. Have some patience for christ sake. How many times have we sacked a manager prematurely before, only to be no better off when the next guy comes along?

You know why we ended up with Magilton? probably because nobody else wanted the job fearing they'd only have 6 months or less to get results. If Magilton goes who do you honestly expect to get?????

Fact is the more we sack our managers, the more unappealing this job becomes and the more laughable we as a club become.

Only a month ago we were top 4, playing the best football we'd played in YEARS.

                    Whats changed since then?................**** ALL!

We STILL have the same group of players we did then, and have the same manager as we did back then. Are you people REALLY that short sighted? are you REALLY that impatient? are you really that ****ing stupid that you think sacking Magilton will do us more good than harm?

You want instant success then **** off and support Chelsea, because right now that's who's fans your sounding like.

This season should be all about building a squad and to challenge in the next couple of seasons

need to start with a good manager and Magilton is not one. No tactical sense, poor man management, plays players out of position and tinkers every game. Well known for it at Ipswich but unfortunately when you scrape the bottom of the barrel to find a manager you get ****.

Honestly right now, Im ashamed to say I'm a QPR fan, and beleive it or not that has nothing to do with this weekends results.

Your all making a big mistake and I honestly hope if Magilton does go, we end up with somebody like Darren Ferguson and Dennis Wise....then we'll see how bad Magilton and for that matter Sousa really were.

Who out of you clearly superior intellectual QPR fans calling for Magilton to be sacked, think we'd realistically, at this point of the season, get to replace Magilton? I await some comical responses from those who genuinely think they know better...
