"all he needs to do is sure up the defence" - that would suggest he knew how to do this. Considering how much he has tinkered around since getting the job, I am not so sure he is capable of doing this.

He should have stuck to the defence that was so consistant for most of last season i.e. Ramage or Connolly, Stewart & Gorkss. Delaney was sold and so Borrowdale for left back.

There was no need to select Hall from the start and then try and get a settled defence by recalling Stewart, Connolly and Gorkss afterwards to play alongside him (on the few occasions he is passed fit).

but that doesn't tell the truth even if we thump Watford tonight as someone has already said, we'll be papering over the cracks & as a decorator i couldn't have put it better myself

M'boro are not that great they had 6 or 7 shots on target & scored 5 so in all honesty they had some really good fortune to score 5 out of 6 or 7 shots

if we score half as many as our shots on target we should score 4 or 5 every game, normally

but the defence midfield & forward line does need improving if we are going to be serious contenders, if not, we will beat teams, we might even wallop 1 or 2 but in the same token we are just as vulnerable to get beat then & now with the odd walloping to boot
