i stayed and clapped the players. at the end of the day, they were ****e but they gave their best and that's all i can ask for. sometimes it will end up in a loss, draw or win but thats just the way football goes. we need to support the team to try and help them get out of this bad run.

We kept going from side to side and then side to side and again side to side... you don't score goals like that!

              Two things.

              1. The OP mentions players "doing a job they love". I disagree. Not all, but a lot, of players do what they do simply because they get paid un-believeably well - take David Batty for instance, he openly admitted he hated the game!
It's a job to them end of.

              2. I'm one who NEVER leaves a game early since I "grew up". Be it 6-1 away at Leeds, 5-0 away at Preston, WimbleMKDons or any other woeful performance we seem to be able to conjure up at will as a club.
I can never understand those who shoot away from Wembley, the Emirates or anywhere 10 minutes from the end --- you are going to a football match; there will be a few thousand extra people around, transport will be a mare, anything can happen right up to the last second - my view is just accept it and wait till the very end.
Imagine if Tricky Trev had slapped in the overhead kick and greatest goal of all time in 90+4 and you'd just left so you wouldn't miss the start of X Factor? I would be GUTTED!

One more thing - I don't disagree with people boo'ing at the END of a game. Many's the time Karl Connolly was at the end of a verbal tirade from me.
Loads of you disagree with that approach but that's your perogative, and as Bobby Brown said, my approach is my perogative.;D
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

                  Exactly!

If Watford lost 5-1 at the weekend would you want to play them today?

I am sure they didn't - that doesn't mean they did their best.

No, disagree, If it was just a job then why start in the first place. They're playing football because they were lucky enough to be good at it, and lucky enough to be spotted. The only reason they were spotted is because they played the game in the first place, in the parks, in school teams, in academy's and nobody can tell me that all the time they did it begrudgingly. They make a healthy living out of a game they love/loved to play...and that is END OF.

I'm sure many hate "the game" because of the politics and BS that go with it, but none of them hate playing football. Nobody holds a gun to their heads.....except maybe in South America !
