We've been unfortunate in losing two influencial LEADERS from the squad for the season - possibly forever.
Rowly would always give 100% and often smacked his fist into his hand at those around him - whatever your view on him you cannot deny he was a good captain.
Likewise Mahon. Not a player I rated but a pro with undoubted experience and leadership qualities.
So to cover the loss of these players we've gone with a loan player who turned us down despite a long and boring chase. A player who rarely troubled the Wigan 1st 11 and in the games I've seen him in would appear to be a waste of a perfectly good £20k a week.
Watson on a permanent in January? No thanks.
Then at the back we have a keeper who either cannot speak English or has had his teeth superglued together.
If he's not marshalling his defence then they sure as damn it wont be marshalling themselves. One Size Fit For F'all needs no introduction but I would expect an international CB in Gorkks to be able to sort a few people out around him at set pieces - perhaps being blamed and dropped for certain defeats has caned his head?
Then our current man with the armband - an average midfielder and not a bad option at right back usually but today was AWFUL. That aside I would not expect Legs to be getting into people as strikes me as very quiet so if his game is poor just how is he an inspriational Captain?
Mad as it seems the only vocal player we have in Hoops is Ramage and I doubt he'd be much of a leader to be honest.
Get me a keeper who commands more than his goal line
Get me Big Danny ****tu at the back
And get me someone who'll roll their sleeves up in the middle of the park, keep the ball and shake some balls into this bunch of overpaid shirkers.
(Oh, and if they weren't on loan that would be nice;D)
Onwards to Monday.........
