At least under sousa we wasn't shipping goals and if i remember rightly never got a total tonking at home.

Think the striker problem is out of Magilton's hands and is down to the board not sanctioning a bid for one.
Personally i am enjoying watching the football this season way more than under Sousa. And shipping goals seems to be a price to pay in our attempts to score them.
Could never imagine us scoring 4 or 5 goals ever under Sousa.

Let's face it..no way were we ever going to be top two material this season (if we got injuries), but (unless we get even more long-term injuries/flavio goes and is not replaced) we should still make the lottery that is the play offs. But we need to strengthen the defence (maybe even Heaton for Cerny?) Gorkss for Hall, Ramage back (if we don't buy a decent right back) etc. If nothing much changes, Madge won't last the season.
I've always been a believer that if you get the defence right then you always have a chance. Back in the 70s/80s when Arsenal were boring they knew this. I think Sousa understood this. Unfortunately sometimes boring football is the way forward, for a club with limited resources. There is no reason to think the current management believe this.
And there is no guarantee that if we do bring in a decent striker/others in Jan that it will work out, teams need time to gell. Now confidence will be dropping like a stone, we HAVE to get back on track: that means at least 3 points from Watford or WBA as a minimum: we really need 4 points. If we have a bad December probably no-one will want to join us anyway (except players of very average ability).
Bad luck with injuries (yet again), lack of investment in the right players, hoping for promotion on the cheap, wasted money on Pellicori....those who thought we would seriously challenge the top two got it wrong. I knew that was not possible with our squad unless we went through the season relatively injury-free.
