  • Interview with Furlong from 4-4-2

Apols if already posted but here's a snippet..

What's been the highlight of your career?

I've played for some big clubs and big managers but the highlight was scoring the only goal for QPR, against Oldham, in the play-off semi-final in 2003, which secured our place in the final at the Millennium Stadium. That goal meant so much to so many people, that's why it stands out for me. With my Chelsea connections there was a bit of animosity at first with some Rangers fans, but I think I won them over with my goals. QPR was the most enjoyable time of my career - it was great to help them into the Championship"

I feel every Rangers fan loves the man now, what stood out for me was this year in the up at Chelsea as he walked round at half time.

Rangers made all the noise and you know Furlong loved it when he came to our end.

Just about to say, do people see him as a legend of QPR ?
          Because i do
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Just very thankful that he didnt give in to the boo boys in his early days.

Great player for QPR and you just wonder could a few others have been as successful if they had stuck with it also.

            Helguson comes to mind.

No I wouldn't call him a legend.....a hero yes, legend no!

Legends are players such Bowles, Marsh, Clements, Francis, McDonald, C.Allen & Ferdinand.

Legend is a statement which is passed onto to trully great players...using it liberally only dilutes its meaning IMO.

Disagree, furlongs goal alone contributed to one of the most significant moment in the history of QPR...i think he can join the great list of legends that you have quoted! Also the players you list played for rangers at the peak of their careers, furlongs best days were supposedly behind him when he joined us.

Football played the Charlie Ferris way

Based on this statement what does that make Ray Wilkins then???

Furlong scored a goal in a League 1 Play Off Semi Final....it was not the FA Cup Final. We also never won the resulting final in Cardiff, it was a great moment in our recent history seeing as we have been **** for 15 years but it was only a League 1 Play Off Semi Final
