  • Pig-Bag is R's ... Pig-Bag is R R R's

Back at the start of season 1998, Queens Park Rangers FC played Pig-Bag as a goal celebration tune at Loftus Road for the first time. It was during the match between QPR v Bristol City (our 1st home game of the season), the mighty Welsh wizard (OK the sun was in my eyes at the time) Karl Ready scored the equalising injury time goal for Rangers, the final score 1-1.
That was the first time Pig-Bag was played ...... and as you know, it's been played ever since when QPR have scored.
In fact us as QPR supporters, actually adopted Pig-Bag some years before our club played it .... it never really caught on that well, until the QF of the FA Cup, which I think was season 1995 at Old Trafford Man U v QPR, which we lost 2-0 in front of 6500 traveling Rangers fans.
Now we all know that football supporters everywhere, nick-off with each others songs ..... but I'm sure, I could be wrong here, Middlesbrough FC are the first club to nick-off with another football clubs goaltheme..... by that I mean our Pig-Bag!

Where are Middlesbrough and what are they? Are they Geordies or Yorkshire men, or maybe something else? ....... Tea leaves I can only guess!!!

So tomorrow, when these whatever they are, give us/you the verbals for singing Pig-Bag ......... remember ...... Pig-Bag was ours first .... END OF!!

Boro sing that Ei Ei Eo Eo song that Millwall do when they score (also ripped off by spurs now). I think they've stopped using pigbag altogether?

Now I may be wrong because I wasn't old enough to remember but whilst hearing the R's faithful singing pig bag away to Everton in a 2-2 draw (Daniel Amokachi scored that day I remember) my ole man informed me that we had been singing it for years and that it had first started in the 80s.
