    problem is the wages.

Okay it might be a team in a relegation battle, but its double bubble wages and parachute payments so your guaranteed it on say a 3 year deal, would be a little enticing for the young ginge.

Premiership wages even near the bottom of the premiership would be 25k plus per week. Don't forget, if he signs he takes a big drop as we are sharing the weekly wonga with Wigan

Just thought I would add something in here.

Premiership wages aren't actually all that.

Carl Henry at Wolves signed an improved deal when they went up, his wages were INCREASED to £10,000 a week! Baring in mind he is their captain, you might be surprised at how highly our players are paid in comparison... So I don't think wages will actually be that much of a problem. Certainly not those scrapping at the bottom of the table anyway.

Indeed - the "headline" wages are humungous but outside the top 6 or 7 sides (and even then, the squad players are not on silly money) the wages aren't any more than we pay the likes of Vine.

Sounds like the wheels are falling off Pete.

As someone rightly said, the holes in our squad were visible months ago, and nothing was done. We've plugged a few gaps with a few loans, and because of our limited "success" to date, it's likely we'll be losing those loanees and there doesnt appear to be anyone lined up to replace them, let alone improve the squad for a full on promotion charge.

This is the Board's first real true test of aspiration. Lets hope that jam finally arrives tomorrow.....

            Very true Nodge.

Quite odd to think that we pay Fitz Hall (a player few rate) almost double what a player leading Wolves in the Premiership is earning.

Put's it into perspective... although I suppose we have to pay those wages to get them to come to the CCC.
