Whoever choose stewart must of missed this season!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

on paper - Connolly and Gorkss are the strongest - however, i think Gorkks and Stewart work best - and in this division, will keep less goals out. You need a big ugly defender at the back - just like ****tu was

lol we will have to agree with disagree about this one. I agree Hall is a better player on the floor - but disagree that hes better at defending, which is the way im looking at it

Right... so we drop Matt Connolly now do we??

It's always the ones who don't play that come out of games smelling of roses... just like at Doncaster.
And then people call for a settled team.

Anyway, for the record: Gorkks and Connolly.
              And stick with them.

We have good passers all over the park, the CBs don't need to be, they just need to be fit for purpoise which is to stop oppositions strikers from being effective.

Gorkss and Stewart all day long. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

                  Yeah prone to concentration lapses!

                    True.

Actually even though I don't agree - they're not cr*p at all... but I liked the picture.

Neither one of them was on the pitch on Saturday and we let in two of the worst goals we have let in all season, down to poor concentration, poor marking and lack of physical/arial strength.

For the record, just like JM, I don't know the answer because we haven't seen any pairing in enough games on the bounce, due mainly to a crop of injuries.

Just as a further thought, wasn't Ramage once a centre back? Could he be worth a go in the reserves to see if he's up to it?

After the Leicester game, it was all about Stewart and his shocking defending that night.
                            Fryatts first goal anyone?

They've all made c**k-ups at some point this season... this week it's Connollys turn. Or Halls?

But there's far more too it than that.
Crosses need to be stopped far more often. Our keeper needs to be more decisive and strong, we need more physical presence in the box at both ends.
And JM needs to try and stick to a settled back 5.

We've had 3 different left backs in the last 3 games, every centre back pairing from a combination of (??? someone can do the maths on that) has been played, and our CM pairing has been chopped and changed week in, week out.

It's not just about the centre backs, and judging them game by game on various errors that they make.
To me, they're too exposed... whatever pairing we go with.

I wouldn't drop connolly.....I know he isn't naturally left footed but I still feel he is better than both Williams and Borrowdale as left back and adds more height.

Back Four = Leigetwood Gorkks Stewart Connolly
