  • I thought We Were OUTSTANDING Today

Okay, I vented my anger after the Doncaster RoverS game, but today we were simply superb. You cannot win them all and If I have to be critical, it was with Magilton/s substitutions. I am not a lover of Ageymang, but this game in the last 15 minutes called for his pace, not Reid being played out wide right. Though, it didn't effect us drawing the game, don't know why Hall got the nod over Gorkss??

I felt we had put so much into the game, that many players were simply out on their feet in the last 15 minutes. Lets be honest, Watson should have scored twice, Tarrabt could have scored 3 times, one great chip that hit the bar, Faurlin had a great strike over the bar, Routledge had 2 great chances in the first half, Connolly had two headers over the bar and I could go on. COleman will be going back on the M1 knowing that he has just stole a point, I was delighted with our performance. We leave ourselves wide open at the back, and for me its one game and during the season you will get games like this. I have not seen us beat up a team like this in years. Obviously the striker critics, will point to lack of goals, but play like this the rest of the season, than a play off spot is forgone conclusion.

Okay, its disappointing we drew the game and it will take time to get over it, but I cannot fault the players effort and commitment. I predicted a draw today and whilst I am at it, we will win next SATURDAY.

Wise man say, only fools rush in, and we can see, Faurlin;s to good for you"

Pete, not sure I always agree with your posts but think you're spot on......and you were right about Best. He;s certainly improved from last time I saw him.

What do you think about reid playing in team in buz position away from home, with tarrabt, routedge and simpson as 3 attackers. I think we need buz to fire a bit more and time on the bench may not do him too much harm.

As we know JM is a lover of Fitz Hall, and he made "diving in" reference to one of the doncaster goals last saturday, having since watched the goals again kasper dived in and went to ground to early which aloud the donny player to nip it round him and shoot for there second...

Clearly he blames kaspers for donnys second goal so he dropped him, IMO very bad decision!! And today we payed the price for not having kaspers air presence!!...Hall is woeful at best and it is very frustrating to see a centre half of Kasper gorkss quality sat on the bench...
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

what concerned me about Reid today, he was fresh as a daisy when he came on with 15 minutes, yet he still got done for pace.

Not sure, he is fit, that would be my big concern.

          2 things

Jim needs to find our best back 4, and fast. No wonder we keep on letting in scrappy goals when we are so unsettled at the back. Gorkss and Connolly is our best centre halves, stick with them game after game

Our need for a striker was again so ****** obvious. Today we had Pellicori and Agyemang on the bench, not near good enough. We need someone who can come on and make an impact when we need to change things around. Simpson's been superb. But he's still young and will have his ups and downs

Pace has never been Steven Reids strength though has it?

I've always though Connolly was a bit slight for a championship centre back. I'd prefer Gorkks and big Dan (please come back). Connolly as full back for me

True, so don't play him as a right winger.

Your right, play your back 4 even if we lose a game. Stop tinkering.
We are in November and it seems Jim does not know his best back 4.

Going forward we are as good as anything in this league. But as good as we are in attack sometimes at the back we are very poor.

not sure as a right (or left for that matter) winger but maybe 3 kind of central midfielders with 3 upfront, tarrabt, routledge and simpson. Fullbacks also provide width going forward

Agreed. Subbing Adel and playing Hall ahead of Gorkss was Jim's biggest mistakes today. He should have taken off Buzsaky for a decent striker...oh hang on ;)
                      When is Balanta fit?
Reid is a box to box midfielder like Watson. Let them fight for a place next to Faurlin, who should be the first name on the teamsheet. Not try and squeeze them into the same team, and play players out of position or play the wrong formation(Doncaster)

He's never been the quickest, always been solid but never the quickest.

Agreed, MC is too weak in the air for a Championship CB.

Great commitment and performance today. The result flatters Coventry IMO.Was dissapointed to see Gorkks on the bench and thought Buzz should have been subbed instead of Adel as he looked the biggest threat.

Finishing let us down as usual, but overall a positive performance.Feel confident about next saturday after today's showing.
