The thought had crossed my mind also, i really like Cerny, he has saved us time and time again, but he has had a few dodgy moments this season...

Thing is, is this young chelsea keeper experienced enough for a first team push??? imo prob not, he is purely emergency back up incase Cerny gets hurt...

If the youngster comes in and makes a mistake then people will say Cerny should have kept his place and we will all moan about possibly loseing more points...

im not blaming hall for the goals. But it was clear all night, especially in the first half - that EVERY corner, cross, free kick - was not dealt with, and they could have been 3 or 4 up. We were lucky! When Gorkss and Stewart plays, they dominate in the air, and we do not have this problem

First of all Connolly was at fault for the first goal. Hall was marking Morrison

Is there anyone that doesn't see a problem with Hall marking Morrison and Connolly marking Best??? Shouldn't that be the other way round?

Someone will no doubt be able to produce soem stats on this, but if our best CB pairing in terms of least goals conceded over the last 2 seasons isn't Stewart & Gorkss....

Why some of you are calling for Stewart is beyond me????
Hall did ****** all wrong and the goals didn't come from players he was marking.
He got the ball down and his distrubution was 1st class and got us playing. He suits Jim's style. I actually rate Gorkks but lets not talk about Stewart on last season or the season before form. This season he looks fat and has been utter dog poo. He has the worst form out of all our defenders and has made way to many costly mistakes. It would be even more highlighted if Gorrks didn't put in last ditch tackles to rescue him.

i respect your opinion - but Stewart does win far more balls in the air than Hall - and at the end of the day, thats what a defender needs to do. Hall may be tidier, and more composed - but the most important thing is to get the ball away. Our defence was excellent last year - why has it been tinkered about with?

Hall actually did pretty well on Saturday, to be fair to him. I do not rate him at all and do not understand why Gorkss was dropped, but on Sat Hall was ok.

I think the thing with selection is that we need to encourage partnerships that work. For example, Rowly and Watson wouldn't give us balance, and I actually don't think Faurlin and Watson do as well as say Faurlin and Mahon. It isn't always about who the best players are individually, it is about how they work together.

So, as has been said a few times, we need to work out our best defence in those terms and stick to it unless someone is injured or having a consistent nightmare over 2-3 games.

Personally, i would go for Legs - Conners - Gorkss - Borrowdale. But I do think that in front of the full backs we need players who are capable of tracking back, and that is why Adel needs to be either up front or drifting back behind the front player, or else given a rocket up his backside as in the first half he left us so exposed down the left.

My main concern defensively is that when Hall plays, and is turned around, he is a liability. Penalty against Palace, nearly the same on Saturday. We miss Gorkss' positional sense, and his passing. We also do not have a quality header of the ball, like Macca or Big Dan. We need one badly. Conners isn't fullly fit, and needs to be treated as such by fans. Get him back to fitness and we have a class player.

I see what you are saying, but for me - Stewart hardly hoofs the ball anymore like he used to. Id rather have one ugly brickhouse defender like him at the back, or ****tu - someone who will dominate in the air and get the ball away - than having a tidy composed player, but who doesnt win a thing and contributes towards the defence being vulnerable. The stats dont lie - we let in more goals with Hall playing.

Errrr Rude???? Please explain? and I'm sure if Damian Stewart logged on here and saw a so called fan calling him a lazy fat ass he wouldn't find it rude at all???? My god you are the one that should grow up and smell the coffee!!! Stewart is our bravest defender and puts his head in where it hurts but hey I'm gonna give up trying to justify why he should be in the team when the last couple of games have been proof enough!!!
