Path clears for R's Town swoop

S****horpe manager Nigel Adkins has denied an interest in Ipswich midfielder Owen Garvan, who has been linked with a move to QPR.
The highly-rated Republic of Ireland Under-21 skipper is being mooted for a move away from Portman Road this January after falling out of favour with Town boss Roy Keane.
Cardiff were linked to Garvan, while R's chief Jim Magilton was also reportedly set to raid his former club to take the player to Loftus Road. However S****horpe will not be joining the fight for his services.
Adkins said: "I believe I have been linked with another player [Garvan] which is totally wrong.
"One, I have never spoken to Ipswich Town, two, I don't even know who his agent is and three, I haven't got a clue where he is coming from on it.
"Four, I do know who the player is, five, I have seen him on the television, six, I have seen him live myself and seven I do know he is a good player.
"Have I made an enquiry about him, no. I do wonder where they come from but, having experienced it over the past few years, it's one of those things.
"We are going to get linked with players all the way through the January transfer window."
