It's not tapping up at all. The minute he enters the last year of his contract, talks can begin without authorisation from his club. When into the last 6 months, you can sign him on a pre contract agreement.

I may be wrong, but if we let his contract run out, due to being 24 (again, not 100% in the bath) we won't even have to pay a fee. This is why a jan signing would only take a small transfer fee.

Ok but Scott you said no talks have happened because of tapping up, so why are people saying we are signing him if talks havent even began?

Not a huge fee for someone in form to be fair.

Out of interest (as I couldn't make it yesterday) how did he play?

I did not really rate him before so watched him yesterday and like others I was impressed and he is the type of striker we need to add another element to our game. If we had had him yesterday we would have scored a hatfull as we had no presence in the air again. Although we drew the football was awesome.

Exactly my opinion, give a good player service and he will score,
Best would be a good signing.

Also well done Jay Simpson, good number of goals for him, lets hope
he will keep hitting the net !!

Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million

Benny, did very well for his goal, got up high and got his goal, many would have left it cos it was fairly high for him...

He was inches away from a second in the first half aswell, got in a great position and headed well, literally inches wide, i thought it had gone in...

Good movement, i made a point of watching him and imo he did very well in a crap team...

In fairness to coventry though, there set pieces were excellent!! spot on!

He would also add to our defence, especially from set-pieces.
He came back and defended very well for Coventry at corners etc..

Our full backs, our front 6... and even our 'keeper aren't the tallest, or great in the air.
It cost us twice yesterday, and it cost us 2 points.

please let us get Best, we need another option up front and he's a big lad aswell, something we dont have at the minute, we need to be able to switch from free flowing footy to lumping balls in at times

Would be a great addition and although it wasn't in our favour, it was good to see he proved some of the doubters wrong yesterday. At least if and when he joins, he'll be coming with the backing of most, if not all of our fans.

As I said before, his 1st spell with us was very early in his career and should not be reffered to. He's a big lad who has now discovered some scoring form. Even without the goals, he'll help create them for Simpson.
