WITH Coventry City in the process of offering Leon Best an improved contract, it's time for the Sky Blues to give him a deadline.
Along with the offer, the Republic of Ireland striker should be told: "Sign by Christmas or we will look to move you on in the January transfer window."
If Leon wishes not to sign that is his prerogative but he should have the decency to accept a move away in the transfer window, in the same way Jay Tabb did, and earn City a transfer fee in the process.
In the two and a half seasons he has been here, Best has had one good season in total.
Starting with the second half of last season and the season to date, Best has found his confidence and shooting boots.
If you look at the statistics, 17 goals in 80 games is not a great return.
Eight in 15 starts this season is why other clubs are sniffing around.
obviously playing for a improved contract, done naff all in nearly 2 & half years, then all of a sudden he's banging them in left right & centre!
now, who do we know like that!!! Aggy comes to mind if you ask me & he bagged a 4 & a half year contract  nah i'd rather have a proven goalscorer thanks

If he is not good enough for the premier league, why sign him as he will be a drain on resources.

Another is Matty Fryatt. Shocking strike rate at this level when Leicester were relegated. Blinding season in League One last year and showing great form this year. Luis Sahar took time to become clinical and is now an establised Prem player. Do we ever give players a chance before saying they're not good enough?Your mum would love me...
