But why are we still going after mediocre strikers when we are able to attract Premiership midfielders. Reid is an Ireland international and on his day a very good player. Watson finished last season in fantastic form for Wigan. Neither have yet to replicate their previous form for us yet but given time and consistency they will both perform (remember Watson's performance against Newcastle and Barnsley).

So why is it then that we don't go after whether it be before the loan window closes or in January Premiership strikers like that of Anichebe, Benjani, Macheda, Vaz Te, El Zhar etc. Why do we have to settle for Championship strikers who aren't consistent?

QPR should perhaps have made an effort to sign Kitson or M Bent.

However, Best is 22 and looks likely to improve as a player. He is also a decent targhet man and could help set up chances for Simpson & others.

If QPR can do a deal for him before the window closes, I say go for it.

He may not be good enough for the PL, but QPR have to get there first.

It doesn't mean QPR will be lumbered with him if he isn't good enough. Stoke haven't exactly been lumbered with Kitson and may be able to offload him to Middlesbro if he scores a few goals there.

Does anyone actually know of any concrete intrest in Leon Best from us? Or is this another ' hes avalible so we should go for him ' thing? Yes i do think he would be a good signing because he shows potential and is still young. But i just want to no if someone knows something before i start getting excited about an actual striker being signed and not a foward. Maybe excited is a bit much actually. lol

Best was a pain in the ar.se hole all day, would be a good signing for us and a different type of striker than what we have.

we need someone like best who is another option not just your nippy little striker like jay/wayne, i reckon jay would play well with a big man, we need a target when we have to play ugly and pump balls into the box.

We need to pull out all the stops to get Leon Best in my opinion.

We could do with someone with a bit of muscle up front.Simpsons doing well but is a bit lightweight and needs someone to play off at times.Looking at todays game I think Best could do a job for us.
