        b) he shouldnt have a ****** agent at that age

        c) if he is allowed to go unless it is for silly money as far as sell on fees go then the club should hand their head in shame.

        d) Yes, you dont know what will happen, dean parret is looking like good business for us BUT we are supposed to be en-route to becoming a big club and kids should be staying here.....
Agree WORD FOR WORD with that.

I'll just add he supports QPR/Manchester United (ironically!).

bad move for the kid, probably never get near the 1st team;he would be better off in a lower division and more chance of at least getting a chance

To get FA Academy status, from where we are now, would cost at a conservative estimate somewhere in the region of £20 million.

For starters, we'd need a new training ground that is our property. On top of that land purchase (presumably in the expensive, desirable and NIMBY west London, Middx or Surrey areas), you need 5 full size pitches, 1 of those being housed completely under cover plus all your usual buildings, gym & swimming facilities, parking to cater for Academy sides from under 9's right through to under 18's. Abramovich did all this at Cobham (allegedly donating "very nice" items to local charities etc....) and he's small beer in comparison to Mittal.

At this point in time, there are better things to be spending £25m on imo.

Richest club in the world? No. That's why we're stuffed to the gills with loan signings and cast offs from Bolton, Preston and Birmingham. Rich owners who know the value of a shiny button? Oh yes.

Thanks Nodge. For ages I've been asking exactly what academy status entails and no one has ever actually come up with the goods.

It's amazingly difficult to track down information on what constitutes an academy and what kids get out of it. But in Googling around I came across this rather good article.

It's not all rosy out there, and this should be mandatory reading for all parents

My boys old club side lost a kid to CFC,1 to AFC and one to ITFC at 10.they are still there at U13 at the mo.Another lad was signed by Millwall but released after 6 mths but has now been picked up by Norwich.3 times a week for training and then a match from essex is a lot .My son is ticking a long at Southend shadow squad and knows he wont make it.he wants to coach and has now started to coach kids on a sat with some 20 yr olds who are teaching him.Hes also doing his ref badge nxt year when 14.he wants to stay in the game and this is his way.

Great post - the link is a very accurate reflection of my experiences to date in the world of kids academy football. The harsh reality is finding the right ways to keeps the boys grounded and focused on their education and honestly it is a very hard struggle indeed.

Well originally the rumours we're we would get 1.5m and 2 loanee players from them.
Doubt we will get much better to be honest.
Sir pie what is your job as u seem to be on this site 24/7?
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

If he wants to go, thee is nothing QPR can do to stop him.

So the offer in the above rumour would be very good, and even better if it included a sell-on fee of at least 10%.

Now do they have anyone who can score goals?
