I'm cheesed off and will say sh*t i shouldnt. The kid is a GREAT kid, his mum is AMAZING, but..agents are all over them like a rash and well, it makes me sick. The money being banded about is more than they've seen in a dozen lifetimes..FFS he's fourteen :(

a kid of 14 shouldnt have an agent regardless - let the kid get to at least 16 and then start the bidding war.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
              Lovejoy: "No?!"

As ****ed off as I'd be.........

I think that in our current situation we should just resign ourselves to the fact that he is like most other young people of his age he wants fame and money now! The days of hanging around with a smaller club and plying your trade in the reserves and hoping to break into the first team in a few years time are long gone.

His agent will have seduced (easy tiger.....metaphorically of course!!) young master Sterling, his parents and assorted hangers on with plenty of dough and the chance of one day not too far down the line playing in a huge newish FULL stadium. Bit of a no brainer really in today's society.

I'd rather bite the bullet and see if we can get a couple of decent players from Man City and tie up a decent deal(maybe with a view to return one day if things don't quite turn out as hoped/expected!! One day we will be one of those vulturous clubs that we currently despise and be praying on smaller clubs' young and up N coming talent!!

I know people will say but why should we let him go with our finances etc. If he wants to leave why stand in his way. Different if we were already in the Premmo and established but then he might not want to leave in the first place.

Am sure there will be others of his ilk and calibre and then we can actually hang on to them!!

                  good post.

its just upsetting as, like i said, he's just a kid, and kids should be protected IMHO

And in fairness (QPR hat aside) he's surely have a better oppo with is short term than rotting in man city or liverpools academy?

                      as good as gone

we can never compete with premier league teams.

                            why??????

we only have a center of exellence not an acadamy like the top teams

we cannot possibly comepete with the money the top teams will be offering. forget how much our board have in personal wealth. the club cannot afford it.

we cannot compete with the possibility of playing for a premier league team with some of the best coaches in the world. playing with and being mentored by some of the best players in the world. rowan vine or robhinho?????
