Pete, you make things up. I NEVER said he wasn't good enough. In fact, I mentioned him before he was loaned to Millwall which was long before you. This is fact.
What I did say was that although I feel he's a class act, I wasn't sure he'd be prolific. Something I still won't call him, yet I'm very pleased to say he's exceeded the amount of goals I expected at this stage. He's only scored once in the last 3 which proves a few things. None of them are to do with his ability, by the way. It proves that not only is it unfair, but impossible to rely on him for goals all the time. It proves that it's far harder to work up top on your own, regardless of support from the midfield. Most importantly, it proves that when he goes off...we've got Aggy and The Pellican to come on and completely weaken our strikeforce. We CANNOT opperate a successful outfit with Simpson being our ONLY striker capable of scoring.
The minute you open your eyes to this and forget the 29 goals, where 12 of them (almost half, Peter) came in 3 games, the sooner you'll realise that we are in fact weaker going forward than we all like to think. No Pete...I'm NOT saying we're rubbish going forward. I'm saying that we've been sussed out. I'm saying that teams know how to play us because we are to an extent, one dimensional. By one dimesional, I mean we only have one game plan. Because our lack of tallent in the striker department means we can only play with one up top. We need a squad capable of playing 4-4-2, as well as the formation we currently use. We don't, therefore we're not good enough to play to all teams weaknesses. Plan B, Peter. It's vital.
