no, i think Fraulin could do that job tho

with that midfield & 2 quality forwards i can't see the apposition getting the ball that much to worry about breaking up their play

In the words of Marvin Gaye and Kim Watson

It takes two baby, to win the ball in midfield not one

Having just read the last 6 pages of this thread I just wanted to make the following points. Firstly although we are the leagues 3rd highest scorers we scored 17 goals in just 4 games against Preston, Reading, Derby and Barnsley meaning we have scored just 12 goals in the other 13 matches. We picked up 12 points from there 4 matches but only a further 15 points from the other 13 matches. Yes all of the matches need to be included when analysing our season so far but it goes to show how mediocre our performances have been except for these few results. Secondly, manchester united had a midfield of giggs, valencia, carrick and fletcher on saturday meaning the likes of nani, anderson, scholes, hargreaves when fit will miss out. That is the modern day squad for you. Quality players have to miss out from time to time. chelsea start with two strikers no matter what even if the likes of deco and ballack miss out. We need strength in depth, we need two strikers.

The problem is, we cannot get them until January.

We will score plenty until then. Plus, we are in the championship, not premiership.

Great analysis if I may say so.Pete replies that we can't sign a striker before January - we've had 18 months to find a striker FFS.He also goes on to say we will score plenty of goals before January without one.I very much doubt it considering Sirpie's comments and our recent poor scoring rate which has gone back to about a goal a game like it was in the earlier part of the season.Lets wait and see who's right.I still can't understand why we can't get in a loan striker in now rather than lose several vital weeks and risk a mid-table position or worse. What happened with the Best rumours,is he comming or isn't he ?

so lets get this right, we can sign Buszaky on loan in mid October with a permanent deal already done & dusted for January but we can't do it now for any forward at all until January!!

so GP calls up Bates & says, we're give you £4M for Beckford in January if you give him to us on loan now, Bates says sorry NO your not allowed ;D

you should really think before you type, as I'm sure there's some on here that believe every thing you say as "FACT" & not "DRIVEL" as that's what it is.

in my opinion, fans get carried away with Beckford scoring goals against the likes of Tranmere and Leyton Orient's of this world and think he can do it against the likes of WBA and Newcastle, a bit risky. I'd Rather have a striker from the premiership or a very good one from the championship.

                    Just my opinion of course.

Its taken ages for someone like Simon Cox to settle in and if we did get promoted, do you really expect Beckford to a be a top striker in the premiership or even hold his own??

I agree! Beckford is not the answer imho
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

should of bought kevin phillips when we had the chance last season but did not want to pay the 20k per week apparantly. He would have scored plenty of goals, but we get this seasona useless cart horse italian who know one knows except the folk in the village he played for in italy absolute joke of a forward. We are left with a injury prone icelandic clogger who seems to have found the goal a couple of times at watford but surprise surprise is injured again. A forward with a goal ratio a defender would be gutted about. Thank god for our loanee jay simpson. So with what we have to work with up front 6 th don't look too bad but we have to get some one in
Gerry Francis the greatest all round player to come from these shores:super_man:

that might be the case in "your opinion"

but is that an answer to "we can't sign anyone until January" or is that the normal "bodyswerve" trick

                              Now, I know your mad:what:

                              You ask who to drop.

What has Routledge done since Derby?

He was poor against Leicester, missed a sitter against Palace, not sure about Sheff Weds and did sweet f.a. at Doncaster.

Taarabt was droppped to the bench on Saturday. If QPR had a decent second striker a 4-4-2 could have been played.

It sn't about dropping anyone in particular, but who to briong on as subs. On saturday Simpson Buzsaky were both subbed and two ineffective forwards replaced them. We are asking for 2 suitable subs. If QPR have now used up all loan allocations, then bring Reid in was a mistake. A forward would have been better.
Pete, I don't think we are deluded.

QPR need a plan b. Whilst the defeat was down to defensive errors, QPR still hand 25 mins plus stoppage time to get back into the game. Not beyond QPR.

You recall the 4-4 draw at Port Vale. QPR were 4-0 down, but had Dichio on the bench. He replaced the useless Hateley and was involved in causing panic and assists in QPR's comeback.

At the moment QPR have no real options for a plan B. Agyemang is pants and Pelklicori has no mobility that unless QPR are camped in the opponets half, he is a pointless sub.

not sure that even after pete has posted 26 replies on this topic, that anyone is anywhere closer to finding a plausible answer as to why we have not spent money on strikers yet.
