It's not about how many you score it's about winning and using the right tactics to do so. Many have agreed that Magilton got it completely wrong at the weekend. However it's not like he has the wealth of strikers to pick from that the other top teams in the division do. The likes of Aygemang and Pelicorri are clearly not up to playing this level on current form so unless we find another striker of better quality to partner Simpson when needed, we are going to have a lot more of these disappointing results over the course of the season. Going away to both Swansea and Doncaster with negative tactics and coming away with no points and scoring 0 in the process isn't really good enough.

We need depth to the squad regardless of the amount of goals we are scoring. It's not like people are slating Simpson but more to do with the fact is we have no real cover to a player who doesn't belong to us and sometimes looks like he struggles as a lone striker when away from home.

Pete, this doesn't mean QPR don't need a striker.

QPR have won only 7 games from 17. That isn't promotion form.
It may sneak a play-off place though - at this rate QPR could finish the season with 20 wins, 15 draws and 11 defeats = 75 pts and the likelihood of losing the P/Os to a side like Swansea or Leicester, who crowd out the midfield.

QPR have dropped points against sides who close them down in midfield and don't allow the likes of Buzsaky, Routkedge and Taarabt freedom to create and score goals.

QPR can't play high balls or get in crosses to Simpson, because he doesn't provide any real aerial threat.

Even on the old board pete kept saying we dont need a striker(remember from last season, our midfielders would score enough for us to make play offs),and now again. For what it is worth,im convinced pete does realise we need a quality striker,he just likes winding people up

we're not discussing how many goals we've scored, who scored them or where we are in the league - we know all that thank you very much, although a recap is always appreciated.

the point, suggestion, postulation, fact if you will, is that we have no "60 minute change" option, where we can throw someone else or change it up a bit if our normal, freescoring plan isn't working...

Maybe he does this to drum up more responses on here, because surely he must see what everyone else seems to.

QPR have only Simpson, a loanee and Agyemang & Pellicori, who can't score, plus Vine & Balanta, who are currently injured, but neither are goalscorers anyway.

It's not just about the goals though is it Pete?

It's about having another option when our front line is misfiring like it was this weekend!

If your suggesting we need better options on the bench, then I agree with you. I would probably get Helguson back, but thats about it. We have Balanta waiting in the wings

But, tell me where they will start???

We ring up a striker;s agent now in November and say come along down to rangers and start on the bench, do you think they would come?

I think some of you need a reality check

Pete...PLEASE do a phone in and let me discuss this topic with you.

I really, really need to chat. Doing it at the HQ doesn't work. At least if it's on record, I can keep playing it back to you. I can't see where you can't see there is no depth. One up top isn't working. We've been found out there. It's showing. We need to have AT LEAST the OPTION to be able to do so, and Aggy, the Pellican and Vine are not giving us enough here. Don't get me wrong...I rate Vine and feel he will come good, but WE NEED A STRIKER. Even two more.

I can't believe I entertained that, but there you go.

For me nobody can disagree we have scored the 3rd most goals in the league, thats a fact... But i cant help but think what if? What if we had that striker!! How many more would we have scored? and how much higher in the league could we be!!!!...
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

yep, you're absolutely right. we should keep on in the same vein, beating the same "we've scored the third most goals in the league" drum.

We should especially do it when we're trailing with 20 minutes to go, and our third best scoring in the league team is having an off day and is finding their third best scoring a little bit difficult.

I find both comfort and solace in knowing that in the grand scheme of things, a viable plan b is no substitute for being the third best scoring team in the league at any given point.

                            turn it in son.

Your not answering my question, at this stage you cannot bring in a striker to sit on the bench !! You have to wait until January and if you going to get carried away with a 2-0 defeat and base the defeat on having no extra strikers, you are slighlty deluded/

Our errors were at the back, not because of lack of strikers.

Connolly was out of position for the first goal and it was Tommy Williams for the second, who may I add I've not seen Borrowdale do this season
