  • Are All Gifted Players Tempermental??

After the recent rumour of Tarrabt and Magilton falling out, should Jim have dealt with it differently and just started him?

The rumour, that he came back late from International duty and missed the bus, seems now a likely true rumour

IMO all the great flair players have a bit of a arrogant swagger about them and believe they could get away with little things like that.

Ryan Giggs - exceptionally gifted, loads of skill and flair and one of the best work ethic's in the professional game. Proof that not all gifted players are tempramental!!!!

I kind of agree with the sentiments of your post, but when he scores a 25yard screamer against coventry i will wish i had never agreed.

true and with players that he isn't fit to wipe their boots

Bowles (although he was a 1 off)

                Rodney

                Gerry

                to name a few

TBH i'm surprised he was in the squad at all (if the rumor is true, that is)

To a degree, it's all part of the make up. If you're selfish on the pitch, you're just as likely IMO to demonstrate a similar propensity to ignore your managers wishes/instructions in addition to team mates. I suppose much comes down to the respect your have for your manager.

Whilst Busby was at Man Utd., George Best was the model of professional behaviour on the pitch. Only when Busby departed did Best fall apart at the seams. Ruud Gullit played the best football of his career under the strict hands of Rinus Michels and Arrigo Sacchi. Nowhere near as good as when he thought he was the kingpin and ran the show.

Sometimes it works - Maradona was given complete free rein at Napoli and re-vitalised the football club, the city and the whole of southern Italy.

Why should he start what sort of message would that send out to the rest of the team.

I would of left him out total yesterday he's let the fans and the club down.

Gifted players are like hot women. They get a lot of lavish attention and praise and feel that they can get away with a lot more than the more average person can, mostly because people let them. The only way to deal with them is to be firm but fair, don't buy into their drama.

Giggs had, and has, a superb person to guide him, and was closeted from the press for a long time. Besty was nurtured by Busby and I am sure that helped. But if you pander to their hissy fits, they can get out of control... but back to football lol.

yes the kid is talented but lets get this straight..........he aint here because of his love for our club but to put himself in the shop window to procure a january transfer...this is all good and well if in the meantime he helps our cause as well but once the moody little son of a camel herdsman starts affecting team morale..........he can bog right off!
