of course I'm disappointed we got beat today, but its only a defeat & we're still in the top 6, yes we could have gone 3rd today & then we would have put the pressure on the teams above us, but it wasn't to be.
at the end of the day i think the club is happy what we are doing, most of our better players are loans, (where would we be without them) a lot lower down the table, i think
what does annoy me tho is some on here won't agree that we need a quality striker, yes Simpson, Routledge, Vine even Aggy are OK to be in with a shout of a top 6 finish, whereas break the frigging bank & BUY a quality 20-25 goalscorer & we will finish in the top 2 because thats what missing, when the going gets tough we need a Philips/Beckford type of player to score the crucial goals for us.
a win against Coventry & this defeat will be forgotten

some people are bound to be dissapointed
there are weaknesses in our team that have not been addressed. it is over a year now.
magilton changed the midfield when they were playing well.
losing a game when we play our best possible team is one thing losing a game when you not is tottally different.
to go up we HAVE to beat teams like doncaster.

Transferred from another thread.......
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Earlier today I forecast we would lose 2-1.I got carried away assuming we would get a goal but according to Sky Sports we didn't have a shot on goal,on target or otherwise, until the 70th minute. We were lucky to win at Sheff Wed and only scored 2 goals in our previous 2 home games losing 5pts out of a possible 6 in the process.Yet there are still those that think we don't need another striker.WE'RE CRYING OUT FOR ONE or even 2.Also under Kingo's thread earlier today headed PLAN B,I asked why over the past 2 weeks with no games being played,we didn't get in a striker on loan in case of injury to Simpson etc.Names like Best(scored today),Jackson,Hooper,McClean etc. have recently been touted but nothing seems to be happening apart from adding to our mounting collection of defenders and midfielders.WBA the yo-yo team of the CCC appear to be doing their usual by topping the league but as sure as night follows day they will be back straight down if they go up.WHAT CHANCE HAVE WE GOT.Many will say one defeat is not disastrous, but we said the same after losing to Leicester and Swansea recently - so its not just one deteat. SORT IT.

This league has teams that are average and below average. Teams in this league are very much the same quality, not very good hence why you can beat anyone in this league.
So no we do not have the right to beat teams like Donny as this is how this league works.

if you drop points against the poorer teams in the division (which donny are) it makes the job 100 times harder. thats what we do.
its these sort of games we look at come the end of the season and think we should have won there. these games are the difference between promotion and another championship season

We do need another striker thats stating the obvious, unfortunately it hasn't been solved for the past 3 years I'm not holding out much hope that it gets solved anytime soon!
It's only one loss and we are still sixth having lost so it's not quite as gloomy as some here would make out, you have to laugh at the start of the season all th moaners predict we will finish around 10th and then moan when we are 6th???
Cardiff lost to Barnsley today and I'm sure they are over on their message board today giving it the usual Dave Jones out campaign after one loss, the fact remains Barnsley are pretty ****e and Cardiff will be up there come May!
I think starting Reid was a mistake though I didn't see the game so he could have been our best player, to leave out Taarabt when he is playing so well seems bizarre! I don't think he had an international this week did he? And i haven't heard of an injury?
Apart from that the team was as expected I'm assuming Borrowdale is still injured so I expected Williams to go straight in. He has been playing regularly this season though unlike Reid!
What we do need to do now is win against Coventry becuase we have only picked up 1 point out 6 in our last two home games and with the defeat today we need the win on Sat!

do you think newcastle or WBA will go down?
or do you think peterborough or plymouth will go up?
there is definatly a difference in quaity in this leagueLast edited by Sam-QPR; 21-11-2009, 08:54 PM.
