The point of this thread (as proved by your good self) is that we have a tendancy to write a player off before they've had a chance. His loan spell years back was as an inexperienced player. He seems to have found his feet, and I believe he'll be a very good signing. Still, I'm sure we'll do well enough relying on just Simpson.
That's 8 for the season - he towered heads above everyone else to score a great equaliser.Who have we got that can do that. Someone like that is our missing link. Will be ironic if he scores against us next week - thought we were supposed to be interested in him?
i'd like Best, he'd be a bit different, we have pacy strikers like jay, ageymang and routledge but don't have a physical prescense up front (pellicori is big but awful) wouldn't mind trying out a big man little man simpson/best partnership. and 8 goals so far is better than any of our lot have got so not sure how he isn't good enough
the striker should have been addressed before now...... and it is shame that it won't be until January.... Simpson needs some kind of support... Agymang, and Pellicori are just not good enough....
Unless the owners are prepared to go out and buy two strikers better than Helguson then the first priority is to get Helguson back and scoring for us instead of scoring for a rival. I would rather Helguson to come on as a sub then Pellicori every single time.
If the owners are to sign permanently one striker then we should try and sign Simpson and bring in another loan of a better quality than Best to the club. If we can't sign Simpson permanently then Best should be an option but only then.
