Turning 6 into 5?

Some people have already started to name what their starting XI would be tomorrow but as yet nobody has written their solution of how you turn 6 loanees into just 5. Not physically possible I know but who drops out?

Why sign a Chelsea reserve keeper and then not pick him on the bench at least? Why sign a Blackburn midfielder but not select him for the 18? Why sign a left back and not put him in the match day squad?

Simpson and Taraabt will start we all know this and on this point there is no need for debate. With Mahon and Rowlands out injured one of (if not both) Watson and Reid will start with the other on the bench. That leaves Williams and Taylor fighting it out for the remaining squad place. If Magilton believes that Borrowdale deserves his left back slot then there is no need to pick Williams for the bench as Ramage could provide cover if needed. Or will Williams play but what does this mean for Taylor? Why sign a keeper then for him not to play any part whatsoever?

Also what does it say as a club to other teams when we make player signings but can't even give them a place on the bench. If this is the case I can't see Chelsea rushing to give us players on loan again.

We have a youngster on the bench. I think it is cover for following matches if cerny were to get injured-he doesnt have to be on the bench.

So if Cerny gets injured in the first minute tomorrow we turn to McWeeney rather than the Chelsea lad we've signed today? One who Magilton describes as having the ability to push Cerny all the way.

In the long term I'm not bothered about Taylor the player because it's clear that Heaton will sign permanently for us in January. But in the short term one of the six has to miss out and this doesn't make for good reading if you are one of the clubs who has loaned us that player. If I were Wigan, Blackburn, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and even Peterborough and the player I've loaned you can't even make it on the bench for your club why should I loan you other players for experience in the future?
