Good - the further away from LR, the better. Bullet dodged IMO

Aaron McLean, George Boyd, Gary Hooper and Lee Barnard are all better options with less total outlay too.

I don't know Beckfords agent either... but I can read:
"It wouldn't be true to say Newcastle have missed out on Jermaine because of what is going on there," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"There has been interest from other clubs and I would anticipate something happening soon - maybe in the next couple of weeks when the transfer market begins to start hotting up.

"But it is certainly true Newcastle is still a seriously attractive option for Jermaine. They are a big club, with a fantastic tradition and history and any player would love to play at St James' Park.

"I'm sure he would talk to whoever takes over at Newcastle when it is sorted out."

He'll go to Newcastle. He was always going to Newcastle. He has said himself that he wants to play for Newcastle.

I'd personally like him to come to QPR, but he wont.

            We move on.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with a "I go to games so I know more than you" mentality before someone says it is by the way - I notice a lot more at home games sitting at the front middle of the Upper Loft for example than I do at pitch level along the side at Palace because you can see the whole pitch clearly and every players movement/attitude and work rate..........but to me the best example I can think of is watching both Derby away and Leicester at home on the TV the day after having sky + them - you don't see a lot of the movement and off the ball work of the teams and do get dragged into the commentators analysis too.

It's also been said many times on internet forums that U Tube clips can make even the most ordinary player a world beater!!

That's my opinion and having never actually seen Beckford in the flesh I can't say whether he would improve the team - some say he is a lazy player who will do nothing for 89 minutes and pop up with a goal - do we want that? I'm not sure and it's a whole different debate.
Where do you sit, sounds like you sit near me? I know what you mean about the views from different angles.

It seems the people that run the club have said on a few occaisions , that they are not going to break the bank . So this is the more likely option

As I have posted before Beckford was on his way to Newcastle before Leeds but he changed his mind at the last moment. Good scorer but a potential pain in the butt in the changing room.

Everyone keeps dropping these nudges and winks about his off-field behaviour. What has he/ does he do - if indeed anyone really knows?

Stainrod, I can only speak about what I was told by someone very close to the Wealdstone manager. He said that JB has a massive chip on his shoulder and a very disrupting influence in the dressing room.

I saw Beckford at Wealdstone when Leeds played there pre season. And I must say for such a disruptive influence with a chip on his shoulder, they could not do enough for him, presenting him with awards etc. Also, I would be very surprised if Graham Bartlett really said that.

Yep, there a plenty of players, much than Beckford who have done worse things, people would love to have seen at W12 over the years and its Funny how he is supposed to be a bad apple but no one knows why.
