I happen to know Beckfords agent Nick Ruberry and he has said that Newcastle is looking favourite for his signature in Jan.

Personally I think he'll be awesome for them and show our fans what they're missing.Your mum would love me...

Missed opportunity, but one I was resigned to a long time ago. Gianni has been exceptionally savvy with picking up quality loans and cheap buys but the centre forward position was the one where he was going to have to break the bank to get the right player - and that was never going to happen.

Originally posted by paulmason View PostLeeds have been on TV so many times, S****horpe alas have not. Also, video clips, newspaper reports, radio reports, sky soccer saturday, fans forums etc, provide enough information if you want it, to make an opinion on a player.
This has nothing whatsoever to do with a "I go to games so I know more than you" mentality before someone says it is by the way - I notice a lot more at home games sitting at the front middle of the Upper Loft for example than I do at pitch level along the side at Palace because you can see the whole pitch clearly and every players movement/attitude and work rate..........but to me the best example I can think of is watching both Derby away and Leicester at home on the TV the day after having sky + them - you don't see a lot of the movement and off the ball work of the teams and do get dragged into the commentators analysis too.
It's also been said many times on internet forums that U Tube clips can make even the most ordinary player a world beater!!
That's my opinion and having never actually seen Beckford in the flesh I can't say whether he would improve the team - some say he is a lazy player who will do nothing for 89 minutes and pop up with a goal - do we want that? I'm not sure and it's a whole different debate.#standuptocancer
