he was way out of his depth when he came on tonight,kept giving the ball away,and 3 mins after he came on for doyle France scored.Ireland had a chance at the death but Best was miles offside.I have to say he didnt look good.......sorry:very_sad:

slight difference? He wont cut it in the premiership against players like sagna and gallas but scores in the championship, therefore he would propably help us get promoted, but wouldnt last in the premiership

out of his depth in the Irish team,When Kevin Doyle went offf and Best came on,we looked a different team,within minutes we were behind.I agree he might do a job for us(QPR)in this division but cant see him being a regular,more of a come off the bench player,I still think Hooper would be a better buy.

I have to agree here, we always do it - write off the player that may be coming to us!!!! This was an international match. We play in the Championship at the moment! I could see your point if we were in the premiership but were not at the moment!

Come on guys give the player a chance, IF he is to come to us!

Isn't the fact that he was considered good enough to play for Ireland in the first place - in the most important game they've had for years, enough to suggest that he's not a bad player?

I don't think he's fantastic, and we could well do better, but writing players off on the back of 15 minutes against France does seem a bit..... much?

Personally ,im not writting him off,just commenting on what i saw of him yesterday,I REALLY hoped he would be great.I would like to see us show some ambition in the january window and if im being honest,signing Best doesnt fall into that catagory for me,BUT Celtic are reporting interest in him and he has forced himself into the Irish panel,so i agree he might be a good signing.Anyway,as Mayur says he is only rumoured to be coming,noone knows for definite,so lets wait and see.
