what we see with our fullbacks is that neither have the pace to stand closer to attackers. If you're fast like bosingwa, ashley cole or evra, you can close attackers down, which prevents crosses coming in. you can also go with and dispossess attackers trying to go past you.

for example, the headed cross that leicester scored against us was due to PR standing off, so the player would find it harder to go past him in a quick sprint. time and time again on both flanks, our fullbacks stand off because they're slow, and the crosses come in as alternatives to dribbling past defenders.

fast fullbacks are a rarity in our league because prem teams grab them up, maybe that's why we have waited a long time to fill these positions.

Spot on with that analysis, although the Prem teams will have kids in their youth and reserves with pace to burn. Van Arnholt was a good example and not taking him on loan was a big mistake.

Jim came in without much time to see what sort of squad he had.He said he would give everyone a chance.I have only seen Borrowdale 4 times at LR at two on box.My opinion is he is ok - but a weak link.Average at best going forward but has a tidy left foot cross.Weak in the air weak in the tackle and weak at positional standing.

Glad to see that pete has watch Peterborough and has informed us that TW hasn't improved.Strange signing - but wait and see i suppose

Borrowdale imo hasnt done anything wrong, he's no world beater but hes done alright, any top team needs competition for places, we are no different.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

This is the thing though isn't it YBR? You don't put yourself about, don't get involved, hide away most of the time, people think "He can't be that bad, I don't remember him doing anything wrong". Then you get someone like Faurlin, never hides, always trying things to get the team moving, he has a second half like against Leicester, and people say "Christ he was s.hit tonight wasn't he?".

Borrowdale is exceedingly average at this level, knows it and does the minimum amount to get by.

Whilst Williams is not a world beater by any stretch, he has pace, can put a decent ball in and has a bit of positional sense. Whilst GB has improved, Williams trumps him in those areas.

Still concerned about the lack of height and aerial ability there though. Something Delaney did give us.

Have I missed something? Who said GB did anything wrong? Just cos we have got TW now doesn't mean that GB is out of the team. I thought most on here agreed that it was the one position that we had no cover for!!!! Nowwe have and it may well mean getting the most out of both with a bit more competetion!!!:victory::victory::victory:

Yep i think i can agree with you there, borrowdale i think keeps his head down well. His most annoying thing for me personally is his inability to stop crosses coming into our box! And your right about Faurlin, im fast becoming a big fan of his!! Turned up got stuck in and hasnt shied away, and imo could become a massive playr for us...

Borrowdale i think has allways been living on borrowed time (excuse the pun)... But in saying that he hasnt done anything obviously wrong so for the time being has been left alone.

Doesnt win enough headers and a lot of attacks from the opposition esp in last 2 home games have come from that side

I think borrowdales alrite, wouldn't say HE was the weak link in our team, there's a few... Stewart, hall n ramage in that same category. However glad we've signed another left back, Williams is not a bad player either, definitely better goin forward... Borrowdale now has competition n may well step it up, let's see... It's good for the team

All About opinions, but don't what the kid needs to do.

Maybe a super curler from 35 yards like Roberto Carlos will do the trick.

End of the day, us QPR fans always need a scapegoat and we have one in Borrowdale. Last season it was Gavin Mahon, now we string one or two wins together, he is best thing since the invention of sliced bread. Now some of you even want him playing all the time. you have to laugh, because last season it was Ramage and Cerny, now its Gary Borrowdale.

Speaking to a couple of players, Routledge never ever gets passed Borrowdale in training, thats tells me that he is good. The fact, he has made less mistakes than our other defenders this season, proves me to he doesn't deserve the stick. Only Gorkss and Connolly can honestly say they have played better at the back this season, than Borrowdale. Yet, some of you lot want to single him out, even blame him for defeats.

He has bounced back from last season and done well.
ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

My scapegoat is Legiertwood thank you very much.....I just find Borrowdale unispiring, yet prepared to accept him if he is all there is available.
