  • Can Someone Please Tell Me What Borrowdale Has Done Wrong?

Now, I have been to every game and whilst I could point out bad games that Hall, Stewart, Tarrabt, Ramage, even Faurlin & Legiterwood had during the first 15 games, but I'm struggling to find a game where Borrowdale under performed.

Someone, who is not relying on posters or hearsay for an opinion, could you please tell me, because I would really like to know.

Absolutely nothing wrong and the sad simple fact is that some do not like him because of the alledged Gianni involvement in signing him.

You can spin it all you like but thats the be all and end all and its a shame some cannot feel in within thereselves to give the player a chance.

Wrong question IMHO - its not about not doing wrong its about doing it right. No one wd have said Taraabt wd have done "wrong" not to have scored those wonder goals but in a good team you expect to be surprised by really good play.
For me he has failed to shine in two areas -
      1) going forward - crucial now for full backs
      2) a lot of crosses have been coming in from the left that he hasn't cut out

Borrowdale is one of those players that doesn't really do anything good or bad. There is an arguement that that is a good thing, but I believe that for a team pushing for promotion you need to have players excelling in all positions. Think Williams is probably the better player, but concerns me that he doesn't play every game for Boro.

Good going forward. Doesn't win (and sometimes doesn't seem to even bother winning) headers. Defending he is pretty pap. So all in all average or below. Next question.

Paul, that's rubbish mate. I like Borrowdale but Williams is better. Jay Simpson has been great, but there are better strikers available si he could be improved on.

To answer Petes question...nothing, but it's an area we could easily have improved and IMO have done just that.

It's football...right from the manager to the kit man...if someone better comes available, you go and get them. No place for sentiment, nor in fact loyalty. We are chasing promotion and we still have areas to improve. Legs is a quality RB, but not natural. If for instance Danny Simpson became available to steel from Newcastle because Manure wanted to cash in, I'd not hesitate to bring him in.

Glad to know you watch Peterborough United regularly to make that judgement.

end of the day, williams was with us in Div 1 and hasn't imporved that much.

My god you are becoming quite sad now, do you honestly believe that???

People don't like him because they don't rate him, he is a very very average player and is very lucky to be playing in a team with the sort of players we have.

If he wasn't palying for us I doubt he'd even be playing in this league. Borrowdale hasn't had a really bad game, nor has he had a really good game......the man is a passenger and about the most effective thing he does is play the simple ball, defensively though he is very easy to go past.

as has been said hasnt done anything wrong but hasnt done anything particularly well either, his big problems are he turns slower than milk and keeps allowing his men to get balls into the box....

hes a very very average footballer and is at the moment the main weakness in our side, probably worth keeping as back-up but not good enough imo for a side challenging for promotion

Don't think Gary has done anything majorly wrong.just feel he could be improved on when it comes to our attacking play.

Ben I am not saying for one minute that Williams is not a better player but the question Pete posed was what has Borrowdale done wrong and to mind the answer is nothing.

He will never set the league alight with his current form and I can honestly say that in every game I have watched him he has been ok though I accept that a team with genuine aspirations to be promoted need better then ok players.

If we can find a better player then Buzz then I would of course replace him and the team needs to be constantly strenghened and there is no room for sentiment if we are serious about going up but I still maintain that Borrowdale has not had a shocker once this season and that was the question asked.

                              Not sure what you mean?

If your refering to the supporters, then to me its simply down to the fact "hes not a popular name". No hes not the best left back, but he can trap a ball, passing not to bad, postional sense ok and defends ok, nothing special, but he is by far better than what we have had recently. I know people shout for playing others in that position instead, but the problem with that is it weakens us in other areas. In fact take Gino out off the secene i struggle to find a better left back since we got relagated from the prem.

If your reffering to the signing, well i think Jim dosnt fancy playing any of our other defenders in that postion and with him out on saturday it shown him we are very vunerable. Being 4th he most got permission to get cover and it will should help in push forward and improve as he now has competition.
