as in a quality striker alongside him,The BBC commentator kept saying it,as he was on his own again today.we got the rub of the green today(which we have not got in other games),but it could hve cost us,and has done in previous games.No doubt we have a terrific midfield,who will create lots of chances,but we cant keep relying on Simpson all the time,he needs help.Delighted with the win today,but Sheff wed will feel they were unlucky.

Agree Matthew, he is doing very well for a lone striker, but we need some real quality up there to support him!

Yup, interesting hearing Clive Walker screaming out for us to bring on Aggy to support the increasingly isolated Simpson. A couple of balls were being lumped up to him that he didnt a hope of winning. No sooner had Walker reiterated it for the 3rd time, on comes Faurlin for Buzz and he sets up the winning goal....who'd be a manager

Clive Walker said he was being isolated upfront, so i'll take his word on it.
Simpson can't really hold the play up or win balls in the air. We must of been launching it when wed we're on top?

I think the squad needs an option of a partner for Simpson. He doesn't neccessarily need to start but as long as there is an option better than having no back up plan.

Yesterday Blackburn played 1 upfront at home and Di Santo was isolated. Allardyce changed the system because he had the players to do so as a result they went on to score three. If we continue to play 1 upfront then we must have the option to change this to 4-4-2 or even 4-3-3 depending on the situation.
