  • new ground...now is the time

brizzle and spurs are planning for the future

loftus rd is barely up to prem standard

surely we look now at land and plans for a new arena somewhere near the bush?
in a recession we may get a better deal??
bbc are skint, army may sell off that piece of TA in SAR and council may negotiate for that run down plastic pitch...there is the space...

new ground for 25,000 ( with room to add)
use rainwater into reservoirs for watering pitch
( enviro friendly, we may get "incentives" for this??)
    leg room
room for our own clubhouse ( as newky have)
built in gym/indoor pitch as arsenal had, for use and hire by locals, members etc
maybe an area that converts into safe terrace as german clubs can do

PLAN IT NOW....if we don't go up, soon...no worries.

Been saying the same for ages.....Loftus rd is our spiritual home but is tired and old, we need to compete with fulham chelsea and not get left behind.

Perfect. We could redevelope virtually all stands. Knock down ellersie and build it up steeper. Same with school and Loft. And I'm sure you could add a teir onto SAR.

Have to be honest with you, cant see us moving anytime soon

Think you will find there is little room for scope at lr, cant expand outwards, no room, and sar is at maximam allowed hieght, (council regulations) move to local new ground best option.

plan now, apply for planning permission ( could take ages) and wait....

all depends on promotion....and we need to sell out more home games
                    be ready....
if we go up....manure,lpool,asre,spuds,wet sham, chelsh WILL ALL WANt 5000 tKtS....

It is definatley possibe and apparentley we are looking at it at the moment. Thing is The stands are so shallow and are not steep at all. If you compare Chelsea's stand, it is incredably steep and from doing that you gain more seats.

I think we should apply now and see what happens.
If not and we have to move I hope we build a ground were atmosphere is a key design concept-stands close to the pitch, not a big bowl like some other stadiums

Stands are prob shallow cos of height restiction, we are hemmed in by houses and such and affected by natural light regulations.

Don't agree. Look at how many clubs have built new stadiums before going up.

                            Bolton, Wigan, Reading, Stoke, Hull.

Add to that the new stadiums for Arsenal, Man City, Leicester, Derby, Middlesbro, Sunderland, Southampton, Cardiff, Swansea, Doncaster, Mk Dons, Darlington, Northampton, Colchester.

Planned new stadiums Liverpool, Everton,Tottenham, Bristol City, Brighton, Chesterfield,

Others have revamped their tired old stadiums incl. Man U, Chelsea, West Ham, Fulham, Charlton. But this will be nigh on impossible at LR due to space restrictions and regulations.

I am sure I have missed a few more clubs out of the above.

At the current rate, QPR will have amongst the smallest and uncomfortbale stadiums out of all the top two divisions.

I agree, if QPR buy land/property now, they are likely to get a cheaper deal than wait until after winning promotion - which could be at least another 2 seasons after this one.

Loftus Road is QPR's spiritual home, but it is small, has poor views from 1000's of seats, no leg room and is absolutely crammed (if a reasonable crowd attends) when trying to get some refreshments or use the toilets at half time.

Apart from that it looks dated and a poor quality stadium and to be honest a bit of an embarrassment amongst these new stadiums.

with 4 tube stns and an overground nearby, the westway and numerous buses...we are in an ideal area...the obvious space seems along SAR....

also there is land at the end of SAR, bloemfontein end which is already demolished and vacant, but i am unsure of its size??
