I understand the supporters frustration, but the club are in a no win situation here.

What if there are supporters in and around this area, who are complaining to the club that they have to spend most of the game standing because the stewards don't make people sit down. These supporters are telling the club that if they don't do something about it, they will report them to the correct authorities and if they have an accident they will sue.

These supporters could have been offered a move to another seat and refused, and I bet they wont admit to anyone that their complaining, they could do the opposite and be vocal against it. Also knowing today's society if one of the culprits who does stand up do in fact have an accident and they could sue QPR for a few quid, what's the betting they would.

If this happens then and QPR have not been seen doing there up most the final punishment will be a lot harder and we could find we have to play games behind closed doors, the club fined, deducted points or if an accident happens sued.

People will say Man U, Chelsea and even people stand in other parts of the ground stand up, so why cant you. Well simple none of those arguments will stand up in any court as a defence as they will simply say, that is a different situation.

I am not saying I am right, but most of the arguments given and the slating of the club are only one side of it. People say, well why don't the club come clean and say that's what happening, easy confidentially and the possibility of causing trouble between supporters.

I have a job that has these types of customer situations and there are no right answers, and they are no resolutions which will not cause up set.

Just another point to think about.

Would it not be logical to just making those area's of the ground a "Standing Area?"

All this talk of health and safety = rubbish. If it was that big of a concern firstly we wouldn't have gotten away with it so long. And Secondly they would start at the very top - like Anfield/Celtic etc.

I wonder how many people have got injured at LR through standing? I can't ever recall even one.

i think we should have a protest outside the ground before the next home game or do some leaflets ,petition or something to show them how many fans they will lose if they block are tickets

It might sound extreme... but I was thinking along similar lines.

Geuinely if they block my ST - I won't come back. I could handle everything that this board has thrown as us... price hikes etc. The second that they stop me from entering the ground, is the time that I no longer go.

Saddest thing of all is that I truly don't think that they care.

Most fans would rather sit down in the long run than be banned from the ground.

SM1882, i dont want anyone banned, i love your reports and your point of views, but wether we like it or not the club does have to deal with the red tape and legal matters.

As far as i know the talyor report stated that all grounds in the top 2 division need to be all seating. If a club gets promoted that dosnt not comply they have 3 years to fix it, if not they have to apply for a extenstion.

I know in 2007, there was a movement to remove this restriction and have safe standing areas, but as far as i know this failed at the 1st attempt. Unless this has changed, and the police or customers are complaining to QPR to fix the situation they have no options.

Again for Liverpool, Man U / Chelsea if customers or the police are not complaining then the club dosnt have to do anything about it. If the club get prosocuted by any authority by breaking the law, or sued by a fan (just because it has not happened dosnt mean we wont be the 1st) it is no defence pointing out other culprits.

I like all QPR fans but i think there is more to this than just QPR being subbourn, i could be wrong but i want to put another point of veiw across.

Thanks Bigears, honestly that was a very well reasoned point that you made there.

I do have to say though, I don't agree that the club are under that much pressure to do anything about it... Honestly I feel that someone within the club is determined to stamp it out - although I have no idea who. Russell?

You are bang on about that resolution, so my question would by why this was never an issue in previous seasons? The rules haven't suddenly changed, and it was something we were able to do fairly freely before... so why the sudden attempt to stamp it out?

As for the Liverpool scenario, I can't see an army of stewards asking the Kop end to sit down if someone kicked up a fuss about it. I'm sure they would tell the sole person who had a problem to either jog on - or to just sit somewhere else.

As mentioned I am just trying to put another point of view across, I dont not know anything about this as I am just a supporter arguing a different point of view regardless of how unlikely it is to happen. I do not want to offend anyone and if I do below I am sorry, but:

If the police, council or stewards have formally reported to QPR that if standing continues in this area due to the lack of room (we know loftus road was built for midgets) there will be a serious accident which could endanger customer lives (pointing to previous incidents like Hillsbourgh or Bradford as examples and lesson learnt)

As a result if there was to be an accident and someone or some people were to be hurt, and it was proven that the club was formally warned by the police and officials and QPR chose to ignore these warnings, then they will be negligent. Then if this was the case one of the higher Directors can be legally prosecuted, depending on the level of injury they could end up in prison. If the club has received this warning this year, it would explain why they are eager to pursue this matter now and not before.

It is possible that other police forces or councils do not consider this as an serious issue at other grounds, or feel they could cause more harm in enforcing it, therefore the risk of prosecution and imprisonment for the directors is less serious.

As a director of company you need to take all precautions against the unlikely, if you don't its you who is held accountable.

I could be talking pugwash above as I am not a director and if Directors of other companies may come on here and say I talking rubbish if so then ill hold my hands up

On another note: did you do a report of the coventry game, as that is the hightlight of my Sundayafternoon

just another point how many accidents/fatalities have there been at qpr in the last decade due to standing they just need to have a bit of common

                                It's illegal.

LBH&F are pretty ruthless in upholding this. Chelsea and Fulham don't get it any easier.
