I love watching us play attractive, passing, attacking football, but i will take a scrappy 1 nil win! Were gonna face alot of teams who will pack there midfield with gavin mahons and were gonna have to learn to cope with that!
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

i would much prefer playing good attractive football. scoring goals is what football is about and the more the better.

goal diff is very important in a tight league like this.

i was so bored last year at qpr. yes winning occasionally, but it was terrible football. i lost my passion for celebrating goals.

i now find myself going mad about goals like i used to.

i am really enjoying it at the moment and long may it continue.

After watching the leicester game i thought u cant always play the attractive stuff if the other team is stopping ya so im happy to play boring, exciting, scrappy, hoof ball, samba wotever! which i feel a mix will be needed, as long as we win thats the main thing

Swansea lowest scorers but still managed to put 2 past us.

I would prefer to win 4-2 than 2-0 if i had the choice.

Having said that if you want a comparison, you have swansea who had a new management and sold thier best players without replacing them compared with QPR who have brought in quality players on loan and purchase but are only what 1 point better off

I am happy with where we are but I am also prepared to consider that Sousa seems to be doing a reasonable job down at swansea given the circumstances and good luck to him

3 points is the most important thing but obviously would rather win the game in style than a 1-0 win by hoofing the ball backwards and forwards

We are, at times, rather exciting to watch.

Obviously, exciting and winning would be preferable. But you can't get everything you want....

So - is style of play important to you? What suits our players best?

Would rather a game where we win 4-3 or win by securing the game at 1-0?
Not at all....I'd rather watch a lucky 1-0 win than us dominate a game and lose to a quickly taken free kick.

i dont agree with this passing out of defence game that Magilton has us playing, gives me a heart attack watching them, prefer when Cerny boots the ball down field.Personally i dont care how we get the 3 points once we get them.a scrappy 1-0 against Palace would do me

It's an interesting one isn't it? Some would just take the three points every week even if it meant just grinding out results, some would forego promotion to enjoy the football.
I think at this stage of the season I want to see good football first, which will probably see a decent set of results. But then, if we are in the frame for promotion later in the season, I'd settle for results first!
I often use past seasons as a reference point, being an old git there are plenty of them! But say in 1975-6, our best ever side, the quality football got us in the position where we could have won the League, but the last 10 games or so weren't so much about the early season quality, more about winning the games.
But ultimately I go to football to be entertained, so I guess if I had to choose it would be quality of football first.

It was a comparison as in winning 1-0, nothing else. I'm more talking about the style of football. Swansea are the best team to compare it too, as they hardly score or concede.
if that's the case then, how abouts comparing a scrappy 1-0 win against a thrilling end to end 4-3 lose, you'd have the wonderful football on display but nothing to show for it, don't get me wrong i much rather watch what we are turning out now then last season, but to compare a boring 1-0 win against a thrilling high scoring winning game is a no brainer, whereas if you compare a high scoring lose against a scrappy 1-0 win i think most would go for the 1-0.

you see, it is how one "spins" it

A free flowing passing game with plenty of goals is always going to excite the fans but for me 1-0 is a good result. In the ideal world we would be playing the beautiful game a bit like the Gooners but be able to tough it out against teams that park the coach in front of goal. A good mixture when the need arises has got to be the best!
Having said all that and reading a lot of the previous posts on this thread most seem to waant 3 points. Thats fine but I bet any money you like if we played really negative football and kept scraping 1-0's the fans would soon start moaning but that human nature. At the moment we are doing great, up there with a decent shout. I feel we have 3 or 4 more defeats ahead but also a lot of 3 points and many goals, so I am happy.

Style of play does help put bums on seats but occasionaly even the the big clubs have to know how to scrap a win now and again, if we are to get in the playoffs or win promotion i would say 3 points is more important than the performance !!

                              I'll rephrase it

Would your prefer the 1-0's and the odd 0-0's

                              or

4-2's and exciting football to watch.
                              The odd 0-0 ?
The only thing odd about 0-0 last season was that we had to endure ELEVEN of them.

Problem is that when Cerny boots it long, the oppo centre halves win the headers and it comes straight back. Ramage is not used to playing the ball out of defence and as Friday shows he isn't looking for it and turned his back. We need full backs who are comfortable on the ball but as many have said they are like 'Rocking Horse's' at this level. This is is major factor that makes us look dodgy with our current players playing JM's system. But I would rather watch this season than what we have been served up for the majority of the last 15 years.
