I just watched the highlights on bbc i player again..

IMO Cerny should keep his place for tuesday, but a few things 1, its a awful mistake, 2, Fryatt has so!!! much time to compose himself and slot the ball away, 3, the pathetic attempt from fitz hall to get back is laughable!
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

No, no way do you drop a goalie on one mistake. He's a good keeper and one of the best in this division, everyone makes mistakes.

Actually I reckon Cerny punches much less this season than last. To drop him for Fridays mistake would be madness in my opinion.

To drop him would be a bad decision but Cerney needs to keep concentrating. I doubt he will make the same mistake again but if he does then ask the question again.

Stick with Cerny, it's not he make that kind of error every week.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

His stupid 10-30 yard passes have nearly cost us so many times. Yes you only focus on the bad things but playing a ball across your goal to a defender who is not looking/expecting it is utter madness. If Gorkks was dropped for the last minute own goal to cost us 2 points, Cerny should suffer the same fate and to be fair, Heaton looks good value and loads of people have said they would like to see him given a chance.

Paul...Ramage called for that ball then turned away as Cerny passed it.

I think this Cerny debate has got completely out of hand.
Yes the keeper making a costly error which in turn, always leads to a goal but there were many other players on the pitch that had a much poorer game. He has been very good for us this season and it would be very harsh to drop him on 1 serious mistake. He was a big part last season why we didn't concede many and with the defence he had infront of him I would of been sh it scared. The way Stewart played, Cerny must of been sh it scared. Anyway Good morning Benny and everybody.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Completely agree, although with Stewart winning POTY last season you'll have plenty question that. For me, Gorkss, Connolly and Cerny deserved it ahead of him but I can't speak on behalf of everyone. I think the award has gone to his head as he seems to have got worse this season. One good performance so far this year. Very dire for our apparent outstanding performer last term.

                    Good morning to you too.

That POTY is a complete joke.
It just highlighted how poor we was in that season.
I thought you could of served gravey with stewart, due to the amount of times he was roasted by Fryatt. Ball watching and diving into tackles, he did everything a good defender wouldn't do. Lack of composure is also a massive problem with him. Well done Gorkks as he can't be easy to play alongside with this form.

Benny - If that is true, why is it not being reported as Ramage mistake and why did they say on soccer AM that Cerny will never do that again ???

Every time we get threads like this you will always get a bit of trouble. I know it gets people debating but it soon ends up with more negatives than positives. He made a mistake - he won't do it again - he has saved us on more than one occasion - end of.

Yes it was a bad error but why drop Cerny for that when other players give the ball away time and time again? Obviously we got punished for Cerny's error so it is highlighted but on Friday the passing all over the pitch was shameful - and contributed towards the error and our defeat.
Leicester worked their socks off and closed down all over the pitch causing the errors and Rangers simply didn't up their work rate enough to combat it. Short passes from Cerny were denied so he had to lump it long - we never came close to winning a 50 50 ball from long goal kicks so he tried to go back to plan A and messed it up.
As someone somewhere said, we have no plan B - not do we have the players for such a plan - in future the players need to roll their sleeves up and work harder to match the opposition - not single out one player for a mistake which was repeated by every other player all over the pitch because, as I said, whilst Cenry's led directly to a goal, all those other mis-placed passes gave Leicester more belief, more possession and ultimately, more chance of winning the game.

I find it funny we slate Cerny when somehow Stewart seems to have gone under the radar. His performance would of looked god damn awful in the ryman leagues. Zero composure and I just hope he doesn't start tues.

He was poor on the night - I wouldn't be surprised if he gets added to the "swine flu victim" list after that showing.

Back to the original point I made - sitting there on Friday I found myself saying over and over how many passes went astray and how there was none of the old fluid movement in the side. Having sky+ the game I said through the misery again last night and focused just on the passing - it was even worse than I had remembered it - no one was exempt either, particular emphasis on Faulin, Buzz, Simpson though because they had been so good with possession in recent games - I'm not going to slate them as we all have off days - Legs possession also was poor and I'm now 100% convinced that Mahon is a big big miss - he passes the ball so "simple" which is why he rarely gives it away and it's also why so many people just don't notice what a vital cog he is.
I don't expect many to agree and I'm not one whose changed his view as I've always said Mahon is important to the team - particularly last season away from home.

I just hope the machine clicks back in on Tuesday because Palace will work just as hard as Leicester - and will kick us to pieces too.
