  • Those Rattles Handed Out Last Night

Am I the only person who wants to see ****ing things banned from the ground. What value do these things add to the atmosphere? If you want to stop kids getting bored at the football hand out colouring books.

The last thing I need when things are tense in a must win game is someones brat rattling one of these things or even worse a grown man 2ft from my ear all night.

Well my 6 year old ST loved the club giving him something for free, so I hope the club continue to keep trying to try and get supporters back.

      No.
If people want to play with little plastic toys, f*** off to McDonalds.

If they want to hand out freebies... give the kids some facepaint, or a disposable camera.

      Or a comic to read.

      Or some tranquilizers.

Perhaps you ought to think that the future of QPR (my club for over 40 years) rests with kids coming to LR rather than doing what is easy and 'supporting' Man U etc. So give a thought to kids rather than just yourself.

          Oh, I do.

Cheers for the advice, but seeing as I'm a dad of 2 QPR fans, even though their mum supports Arsenal, and it's "my club" too (although only for only 35 years), I reckon the kids would prefer a comic, a halloween mask, or maybe some drugs?
          Sugar-based, obviously.

            we worry of "rattles"....?????????????????????????????????????????????? ????

not the over crowded concourses in say SAR?

seems the club "tried" to be family friendly, i applaud that.

Personally, I love em, as they take me back to when I was a kid in the 60's and lots of people had them, as they were left over from WW2.
The plastic ones don't make as good a noise as the big old wooden ones, but for me it's a throwback to the days of terraces and roasted peanuts.
Adds to the noise and the atmosphere -- and it gets the kids SUPPORTING us -- how would giving them a colouring book achieve that? You can't support your team if you're busy colouring in.

                    Rattles? Great idea.
Ground's too quiet as it is.

Giving the kids something for free is great..twas just the rattles were a bad idea.

                      as a) they're annoying
                      b) they dont give off the right noise to generate or aid an atmosphere
                      c) they're too small to be picked up by the Sky Cameras

So, the club should give something out cool to the kids and for the kids only.

If they want to generate an atmosphere or make Loftus Road more visually appealing they would need to do a chelski and bung us all scarves or flags or something.

Albeit i must admit the one freebie i did get on friday was AMAZING

anyone try those roast chicken/roast beef things??? All wrapped up in a yorkshire pudding style outer?

                      those were gorgeous

Many are missing the point, the rattles were for the 'kids' and my 6 year old loved it especially because it had a QPR badge on it and it is now in pride of place in his bedroom (won't make it back to LR). For the kids it worked but obviously not for the adults.

Kingo no ones missing the point and I appreciate that the kids are the future of the club etc etc.

However, the rattles were annoying they should be banned.

A lot of fans go to the football to get some peace and quiet from home and to be faced with 2000 kids rattling and waving these things at each other is a nuisance.

I can catergorically say any child waving one of these within my vicinty against Palace will be told to stop.....I can only compare it to sitting next to wailing child for 90 mins.

I will probably write a letter to the club to this effect.

Know what you're saying mate (i even nabbed one to add to my QPR stuff) but if they were just for kids why were they handing them out to adults in the upper loft?

They should have been for kids but clearly they were for everyone to "make" an atmosphere.
