We have better players than leicester but they worked harder than we did.

we did get sussed out to an extent, leicester were on the front foot looking to intercept lateral passes and did this time after time very effectively, also mentioned above pushed up thier full back and shout down our central defenders forcing us to play a longer game most of the time.

Pearson obviously watched the Derby game! I am sure colin ****** has watched both games now very carefully and will have palace well drilled.

On Friday i got the impression that the players were over confident and therefore were not ready for the battle, this needs sorting by magilton.

If we are prepared to match other teams for effort then we will be ok but we need a bit more determination than showed last night.
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

We got sussed out last night, not sure all teams will do the same homework on us. Sirpie mentioned a Plan B, which at the moment we don;t have. Its the same quick touch passing football, and if we replace Simpson or Tarrabt we replace them with Vine or Ageymang. We don;t change the style if needed. Plus, It was first time this season, we had no width.

Personally, I think that the way Leicester played us was the obvious thing to try. Preston, Reading and Derby did not press on our Center Backs nor did they hassle the midfield. On the contrary, they all gave our players space to play, which is what we did and that is why we destroyed them.

It is the same way that the few teams who have ever got anything from Old Trafford have done in the last ten years or so - press them hard and press them high up the pitch.

The point is that it is NOT an easy thing to do well. Leicester were on top of their game and did it very well. There are not too many teams in the Championship who will do it that effectively.

That's the good side; the bad is that PalARSE are one of those ugly teams who will try to put it up us on Tuesday - that will be a real test. I see no reason to change much though; we have NOT become a bad team overnight and nor have we really been 'found out'...

            Quite right.

"Found out", or not... if we'd passed the ball better, not defended like a bunch of drunks - we'd have won last night.

we will get done many more times this season,we play far too open in the centre of midfield,we need to play mahon and watson there;the centre 2 must be good at defending as we are leaving the defence far too exposed

                1. We were too narrow, as Pete said.
                2. Some of our passing was too casual and careless -- stunk of complacency.
                3. We sat and let the ball come to us, which meant too many passes were intercepted. This is a feature of Legs' play, and I think the others just followed suit.
                4. Stewart was awful from the off, for whatever reason, and Gorkss seemed to be aware of it -- he was constantly watching Stewart and often tried to cover him, which pulled him out of his own position.
                BUT...
                5. Although everyone know that Taarabt and Routledge are the ones to take out, lots of teams haven't got the players to do that, and with better support from CM, they will be far more effective than on Friday.
                6. The defeat will do them good in the long run -- a wake-up call that no-one is entitled to points unless they work a lot, lot harder than they did.
                7. Cerny won't ever make the same mistake again -- Routledge said so on Soccer AM!!
                8. JM moved Legs out of CM -- hopefully JM realised that Legs prevents us from playing the way JM wants us to?

Our style just needs someone to put the ball in the net, Boro didn't outplay us. Infact for the first 20 mins we were completely outclassing them, our problem is that we do not convert the chances we make. Adel should have put us in the lead but didn't and Boro just took there chances. The only had 8 shots at goal and scored with 5 of them.
