I think he'll do well with the assistance in the market, and he wasn't really building to much from the team he took over - remember Royle quit just after missing out on automatic promotion - so the team was good, the difference was he had money which Royle didn't have.

Either way i'll be happy to see jim succed he was a legend as player who i feel was very harshly sacked, but high hopes for QPR and maybe just maybe we can join you up thetop in a few months

Basically Superblueflude..... we are cloud nine and the garden is looking very rosey....

come back in a few hours and if we have lost tonight, except to read a very different opinion on the Magilton and the players..... football is fickle and this board is as fickle as it comes......

Note: one problem though.... we will beat Leicester tonight

i would say id be more worried with keane in charge of transfers.. i mean he signs good players but he also signs bucket loads..which sometimes he doesnt use

Totally agree some signings have been ****** terrible, but some are fantastic, edwards looks class, leadbitter - deffinately going to become a legend with town.
and we do have cevilli adn norris back soon so possible good team.
Keanes young in management and he will learn, i just hope we give him time - unlike jim - i hate the way we sacked him!.

Are you guessing or do you know this as fact? This is a big statement to come out with! I know people very close to the player (very very close in fact and this is so not what they have been saying). Our squad are buzzing. JG and JM have managed to get them believeing in one another. Confidence counts for a lot and when you buzzing things tend to go you way. The squad in pre season got stripped back to basics. Large effort were made on developing a playing style. Half of our squad couldn't make a 10 yard pass and yet the management team has turned that around and deserve full credit because it is those same players who took to the field last season with the addition of one or two here and there. As supporters we all could see the potential and we all knew if we got the right additions we could challenge.

The players Also witnessed a very dark side in Magilton at Execter at Half Time in the dressing room. One which they would not like to see again! That's had a major impact on performances.

My take on this would be that Magilton was simply too close to the players at Ipswich. He knew them all as a fellow player and maybe struggled to emphasise his authority on a group of lads who knew him as just another pro and weren't perhaps, subconsciously, putting in the performances for someone they didn't consider the "boss".

He has no such baggage at Rangers where they only know him as the manager and could well be more open to his ideas than the players at Ipswich were. Just supposition, but we found a very similar thing with Ray Wilkins.

wasnt ipswich's transfer policy to sign players who cant get in at a club on the cheap or to sign elder players who are on the way down?

I know who spotted Faurlin first. Lets just say Gorman liked what he saw.

I'm surprised ipswich are struggling. I think we had run a poll before the start of the season, most fans would have plumped for Keane over magilton, how wrong we were. The players we have at the club are very good, its just a matter of getting them to gel, which Sousa could not do.

I was impressed with Magilton at the beginning of the season, when it was not going well. He seemed to bring the players back to earth when they were underperforming.

Hhrangers - why lower the tone? i'm speaking to you guys as a football fan and you have to slate my team?

our transfers havne't always been bad, but i don't want to go into it as this is your QPR Site and not one for ipswich, just wanted to ask your opinions on mag.

Nodge completely agree - many times i felt he picked players purely out of friendship - wilnis naylor etc, to name a couple.
Either way - i dont want to take up to much of your boards, but thanks for your comments and heres to a succesful season if not for both of us then for you and magic jim.

I think that was just a bit of banter. Your not as bad as Norwich, but next season you could be playing them in league 1

Seriously, Magilton in my opinion owes alot to Gorman. They do seem to work well together.

would love stead and walters for the fact it would save at least 2 goals against us this season!

lol, Yeah walters is class - but although hes a great midfielder he doesnt like being uptop - which is where keanes playing him - mainly because we've baught in edwards - so to be fair dont be suprised if Jim tries to get him in - thats if yuo need him? if you do get him you'll get a work horse -never and i mean never stops running.
Stead shuold be starting tommorow so if he can score some goals - your not having him lol.
by the way - how long until our game?

Superblueflude, you have made some good posts here and its nice to hear fans from others sides being sensible in debate. A good mate of mine is a Town fan and he is not happy at all with Roy Kean. He would prefer to have Jim back as he always said that Jim likes to play a good passing game. When Jim was appointed here at W12 he pulled my leg alot but underlined that if we had the players Jim would get the best from them. After a fairly slow and cautious start we seem to be heading in the right direction. Ipswich will not be relegated thats for sure but you will need to pick up some 3 point games soon or the rest of the season will be long and hard. Having said that the CCC is such a closely fought league and in all honesty anyone today as they stand could get promoted or relegated.
