  • The Mahon dilema...

    LOVE IT!!!

Mahon last season was slated by many on here. Now we can't decide on a team without him. Quality stuff.

I think in truth, his style didn't suit us last season. Now, with all the fliar, he's our anchor man and compliments the flair players very well.

Well done Mahon...yet another who has given a MASSIVE 'up yours' to the boo boys.

    Superb
    Your mum would love me...

I agree, Mahon looks much better alongside creative players. Last season he was teamed up with Leigertwood and Rowlands, then Miller was added to replace the injured Rowlands.

We all could see that it wasn't working, but because the club did not buy a creative midfielder to cover for Buzsaky, there wasn't much choice.

He has also notched a couple of goals in last few matches.

two fingers up to the fans that slated him.....

Now - lets work on Borrowdale...;D

Have to admit I was never a big fan of mahon (never booed him mind) but he has played brilliantly. Proves yet again why I'm not our manager

You're not the only one. Whilst I never said he was crap, I never thought he had much to offer us. Like you, I never booed him just as I'd never boo any Rangers player. I'm delighted to say he's a player who has proved me wrong as he has a huge amount to offer us. It was only a few days ago that I said (albeit regretably) that I'd not be too upset if he was used as a make-weight for Hooper, but now that I've looked at the team dimensions without him...I have to completely re-think my decission. We really do need him.

            Like I say...LOVE IT!!!

Hooray!!! benny I'm in the unusual position (of late) of agreeing with you 100%.

The Mahon thing just show s how far the team have come and how differently we are playing now that we need an anchor man like GM or BW to comliment our "thrusting" style of play

I do find it funny that people find booing punishable by death, but in both Mahon's and Taarabt's cases, they were not happy about being booed, but look at them now. Would Adel be such a team player now if he did not get the bird ? I dont think so, does Mahon love people singing his name and saying he is undropable, I bet he does as they take the rough with the smooth

Booing is not nice but some times frustration overtakes people and booooooooooooooo comes out. Mahon was absolute crap that night and Sousa should have taken him of to protect him but he chose not to for whatever reason.

Paul...a little over the top, but I hear you.

Booing is something I'll never agree with, nor will I ever partake in. It solves nothing and although Adel's seems to have made him think twice, I also think it's largely down to Jim Magilton telling him to sort it out. Mahon however is someone who has always had it in him to perform and was unlucky at the style of play we used. Nowadays he's more adaptable to what we do which is why he looks far better.

                    Just my $0.02 worth.

Every side need a Mahon in it. Not the most creative, but looks after the hole in the middle with ease. Always did last season including when he took a load of stick from a bunch of ******s because of a couple of missed passes.

Just because he's not full of tricks, doesn't make him a bad player.

We always performed better with rowlands in the side for some reason, but with Mahon & Watson out as well, we are now overflowing with "talent" in the middle, but may lack a bit of steel.....Step forward....Legs [another player not appreciated by many]

Not sure booing is punishable by death but to boo a qpr player is ridiculous. What you're talking about is frustration at a poor performance, I think I yelled thats blooody awful mahon when he headed the ball back to the keeper and nearly let them in, forget who it was against. But to sit there and repeatedly boo a player.....I will never understand that
