  • January activity? - your views?

would like to know what other fans believe we should do during the january window.

put it like this we're in playoffs come january 1st and uve got x amount to spend (not defined)

who do u bring in and who do you let go?

I personally feel gary hooper for a mil n half would be good business, and then maybe bring in a cheap striker.. dunno how much we would get him for but stead from ipswich?

revolving from that id sell helguson should we get hooper and agyemang is gone regardless.

i would like to see us either buy heaton or another backup GK.. its a waste of a loan otherwise. then bring in a full back on loan from a prem club.

try sign watson and simpson.. and then still put a bid in for taarabt even tho it may fall on deaf ears.

overall i wouldnt want to change it too much.. as we have the winning formula. i do feel however we need competition for right and left back and striker. as rowly is out id make legs our 3rd/4th choice midfielder behind/with faurlin, watson and mahon(who i feel now has a purpose in our team)
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
    Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

As I understand it Simpson will be here for the season, all of our other loan signings could return to their clubs in January. I think it is essential we secure the services of Taarabt, Watson and Heaton (or another reserve keeper) for the remainder of the season at least.

In addition we need to sign cover/competition for Borrowdale at left back. Also I don't think it could do any harm to bring in another right back. Rumours are circulating that Ramage is not happy playing 2nd fiddle to Legiertwood and wants to leave. We cannot have a situation where Legs is our only option at right back.

Other than that I think we need to look at our striking options. Okay, things are going great at the moment and we're banging the goals in but I still feel we lack a genuine centre forward and would certainly struggle if Simpson got injured. I'd like to see one of the following strikers brought in:

    Jermaine Beckford
    Simeon Jackson
    Gary Hooper

i think its a must that we try to sign simpson and tarrabt permantly, tarrabt might be the more compicated one to buy but i think give the ***s some add ons and tarrabt some expensive clauses then maybe....... If we were to go out in january and buy a couple of good full backs and a striker that would really show watson simpson and tarrabt we mean business.

i think if we get promoted there all stay, but unfortunatly even if we make the playoffs its all a lottery from there on.

I thought Taarabt was a season long loan as well?
Would bring in a left back first and foremost closely followed by a right back, then try and keep Simpson( that might be tricky if he keeps scoring) sign Watson, if not Simpson try Watt from Arsenal another good front man.

End of the season it is. The clause is if Prem club comes in for him he is free to leave. So, based on his performances that is a good chance!

Broadly agree with you, but I don't think the club will let Agyemang go before the end of the season, if at all.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

I think the problem with letting Agyemang go (other than the fact we have very little cover at the moment) is that he is on a long contract with a high salary. Unless we can find a buyer who is willing to match or better what we are currently paying him it is likely the club will need to offer a large pay off in order for him to move on.

All said and done it's probably better to keep him in the squad and use him as a sub where required than sending him packing with a big wodge of cash!!!!

With Ageyamang, it depends if the player actually likes playing football or not. Any money he'll be on is easily enough to live on, and to save sensibly for the future, so it boils down to whether he wants to be on the pitch or not. If Jim tells him he is always gonna be 2nd string, Pat should ask to leave if he has any passion for the game.

I think we need a goalscorer and a right back, and cover/comp for Borrowdale as we only have him at left back.

As for our loanees, I think Heaton is gong to be a fantastic keeper on the small evidence we have seen, so I think we need to play him in a couple of games and suss out whether to bid or not. Watson is proven and shold be bought if we can. Adel would be an astonishing signing now, and I think it is highly unlikely unless the player is in love with this club. He would not sign anyway unless we were promoted. He seems like an ambitious lad, and who can blame him. Hopefully he will have the inteligence to stay the season here, learn more then assess.

We arer playing unbelievable football, and people are genuinely noticing. This means we are no longer under the radar and neither are our players. We need to go up this season to keep Routledge, Buzz, Tarrabt, Simpson etc... I think if we don't then we could find ourselves having to find replacements.:(

Leigh I see that lame excuse for a football team lost against the mighty Carlisle. Get your #### down LR mate before u get put off of watching football for life
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Competition for Cerny and Borrowdale and replacements for Pellicori and Helguson are imperative come January. If we can make the deals permanent for SImpson and Watson great. If not then they need replacing too.

IMO Simpson and Watson will hopefully be made perm in January...

I know with how well Simpson is doing people might begin to think we dont stand a chance of getting him, but he wants to play football! And if were going well come January i think he will join, by all accounts hes loving it here.

Im happy for Leigertwood to play RB or Connolly to play RB so imo were ok in that position.

Im warming to Borrowdale, he has put in some good performances of late! But imo we need a new LB...He isnt good enough.

1 more striker to boost our options up front, if simpson gets hurt weve got a big problem.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Agreed but with Heaton returning to United during December we do need to bring in another keeper as well.
