The reason is because teams will look to close us down quickly as Derby did Saturday, making it harder for us attacking wise, however teams cant keep that up for 90mins as Derby couldnt and then we can push on and score some goals.

Totally agree. Clough got his tactics spot on but they just couldn't keep it up. I mean the creative quality of Tarby, Faurlin, Buzz and Routledge. If they are properly supported and we can be tight at the back not going to be many teams can close that lot down for 90 mins. And thought Mahon was superb. Goal aside, won the ball and made the simple pass to a hoop and off we went. It is what he has done since he joined us. Very underrated. And we still have Watson to come back and, in due course, Cook and Ephraim.

If we can keep hold of our loan players this could be a very good season especially if purse strings loosened in January too.
