  • Fair Play To Magilton..In Regards To Our Squad

Says he inherited a great team/squad and he has been able to get the best out of them, in todays Sunday Mirror

I know we had calls just 4 weeks ago for a chief scout and even petitions, but what great satisfaction it must give the board and in particular Gianni Paladini who got so much unwarranted stick, but who has been instrumental in getting this team together.

It shows that if worked in the right way , managers can work with sporting directors and maximise the potential of the squad.

I was going to post something similar but I will let you take the flak on this occasion Pete.

I entirely agree with your comments though as Gianni has assembled a decent looking squad or at least been instrumental in actually getting them to sign on the bottom line.

Quite agree Pete, just shows that the people who get paid to do the job, are mostly better qualified than the armchair experts who know everything, and cover all the angles by changing their minds every two weeks.

          qprsteve, your right.

isleworth, happy to take the flak.

Many fans behind a keyboard have been scathing of Gianni Paladini and even now won't say what a good job he has done. If they want to congratulate jim Magilton, then i have no problem with that too. I would ask, who brought Jim in??

End of the day, I was not convinced Jim Magilton would do this good, sometimes you have to admit when you are wrong. When, we didn;t have a pot to p/iss in, you had to bring in some unknowns in or players with little ability as we had no budget. We are now seeing and reaping the rewards of getting in players that are higher calibre and thanks to the board who pay there wages.

Without the investment, we would be struggling. I just hope one day and I hope its May next year, thats the minority of fans who have given Gianni a bucketful of stick, will go up and shake the guys hand, have a bit of humality and thank him for what he has done for the club.

Although the players we have acquired have been vital to our progress I think a lot of credit needs to be given to JM and more so John Gorman for instilling in the players the art of playing football at close quarters and on the ground. This is so clear every time we watch the team now how we benefit from this style of football. It was beautiful at times yesterday to watch and if the truth was known Derby were lucky to not concede 6 after 2 one on ones that maybe should of been tucked away. Come on you R'sssss

Magilton has done a fantastic job he's turned an underachieving squad who didn't look happy at all in to an even better squad with people fighting for places, 2nd choice players performing brilliant when they get there chances, the whole team playing the best football in the league, and the players looking like they are absolutely love playing every week!

Although we are playing the best football ive ever seen at rangers we need back up on taarabt and simpson cos as soon as vine and aggy came on we look stale upfront, vine for me should be back up for buzsaky and aggy a impact sub. Those two cant play fromthe start we are not the same team with em in,its vital for promotion we get a back up striker

the midfield are mostly international players and they are not only international but the stars of their national teams/countries, no surprise that QPR perform this good. they are big names though.

gp is an ex agent not a scout chief or otherwise,as such his credibility is open to question.

Its still an unbalanced squad, no matter how well the first 11-13 players are playing at the moment.
We are not covered in certain areas and that may come back to haunt us at some time this season.
It could be the difference at the end of the day.

He did inherit a great team, but this group of players are a shadow of there former nervous selves...

I mean seriously we showed it in glimpses perhaps last season, but we must be honest some of these players really are in the best form of there careers to date, thats not to say i think there punching above there weight, because i dont think they are, there finally becoming the players they promise to be, and its JM AND JG or have brought this out of them...

They cant imo at the present time be given enough credit for the fantastic job there doing, very happy QPR fan sat here.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

it's amazing what a good run of wins does

would you have posted the same if we were on a losing run! of course not, just like at the beginning of the season when we played a few of the lesser teams & couldn't buy a win , we had loads on here moaning about the lack of quality players, it's human nature to gloat when it's going your way, so fair play to you for that.

regarding GP, yes he has brought in some fantastic players (although 3 of our best players are loans) and as someone has already said,we still haven't got a back up left back!!! Christ knows why, but lets not kid ourselves we still have quiet a lot of deadwood at the club who are just not good enough & funny enough the same bloke brought those in just like the 3 or 4 quality players he has brought in.
i don't want to put a damper on what has been a fantastic couple of weeks for the club, but if you look at the big picture we are still short of a few players that will take us up, hopefully that will be sorted in January.
