  • Keep Mahon in the team

Mahon is very under rated but in my opinion was the lynch pin yesterday. He is an excellent captain and we're a lot more solid with him in the centre.

Despite how good Watson is, I think Mahon should stay in the side even when Watson's ban is up. Its up to Watson to force his way back in now.

Totally agree mate and with Watson set to return against Palace would you trust him not to pick up another red card against his former club???

Following that I believe we have 2 tough away games in Yorkshire which have Gavin 'The Enforcer' Mahon written all over them.

Mahon's a good player, but Watson is one of the best centre mid players in the league. He should come back into the team once his ban is up, especially as it'll be against Palace and he'll be well up for it! I hope we beat them for once..

That's right W12 RANGER. Watson will come in for some terrible stick from Palace fans.

Mahon has shown unbelievable strength of character to bounce back from the booing he got last season, and also the way he fitted back into the side so well after being dropped for Watson the other week.

Cannot say more. He is a good replacement for Rowlands. Well done Gav.

I'd have Watson on the bench, you should not change a winning team, unless you get injuries

Hard one to call really.Felt Watson's second yellow a bit harsh and also feel Watson is a quaiity player.Howver, despite all the talent with have with Adel Buz and Wayne,Gavin has shown what a good pro he is and very underrated player. Also - he seems to be very crucial in the development of Faurlin, who appears to be getting better with every game.Good position to be in....but would like to see Watson stay and fight for place with mahon.

if mahon has a good game against leicester,he should keep his place in the team against palace, warnock will target watson if he played as he knows he would be easily rattled.shrewed manager is warnock

When Watson is back.. he needs to earn coming back in the team.

Mahon and Faurlin by far the 2 centre mids for me!
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Watson may be a great player, but he shouldn't walk back in. Mahon is a great payer in a different way and what he does so unassumingly well allows 4 or 5 of our flair players to do their thing with confidence... no matter how good watson is, i'm not sure he offers that, so although he may be technically better than Mahon on an individual basis, it may take something away from the others, and the team as a collective.

Not to mention he has a tendancy for the stupid... both second yellow cards whn sent off have been farcical, no matter how harsh it may have been against Reading... why take the chance, but the first yellow in that match was a ridiculous challenge and uneccessary at the time.

Mahon has always gone about his job in a quiet and professional way. As someone stated above, to come back into the side after being dropped in favour for Watson and the booing he received last season, which I thought was disgraceful just shows how a professional footballer should behave.
Keep a winning side together baring injuries and let Watson fight for his place. On top of that Mahon is a good deputy captain whilst the unfortunate Rowlands is recovering from another terrible injury. I for one have always have rated big Gav.
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

Mahon is playing very well, kept it simple last night made tackles and broke up the play, he was far more effective than Robbie Savage was for them! It's a tough one because he hasn't done anything to get dropped but Watson is arguably the best central midfielder in the league

Mahon's done very well but you'd still bring Watson back in, he's class. Saying he'll get another red is ridiculous, the way he plays he'll get cards but he's been unlucky
